So I've been reading a lot of blogs about racism lately.  I haven't yet formulated anything terribly coherent to say, but I thought I'd give at least a bit of a try.

Part of the reason that I'm largely incoherent on this topic right now is because I hadn't thought terribly deeply about racism, white privilege, institutional oppresion, etc. until I ( Read more... )

Oh, good post! I was thinking about doing a post like this, because like you I've been reading a lot of stuff about privilege lately, and it isn't something I thought much about before. (I was a sheltered child, okay? >.<)

I've been doing so much reading on this topic this year, too. Let me know if you ever want a copy of the stack of essays I've got on my hard-drive. There's maybe five or so that I kept because they were so damn good, but if you want more, I can really happily point you to the blogs I got them from. There's probably some overlap in what we've read, but I'm sure I can find you a new link or two if you'd like.

Let me know! <3
