Through the nothing that you've learned

Goo Goo Dolls show on Friday night was probably the best one I've been to in the last year but also the most traumatic.

First of all: me and the Borgata are not friends. this is not because I lost $15 on the slot machines either. The Borgata lacked all organizational skills when it came to a general admission show. Melanie and I arrived there at 1pm. Some fan was taking unofficial numbers in the order that people showed up. Which I thought was a novel idea but wouldn't work. The reason this girl was doing this was because the Borgata wouldn't let you line up until 6:30. Not even against the wall or anything. They said it was a fire hazard (even though it was more a fire hazard at the end of the show when there were hundreds of people trying to get down two escalators). Melanie and I still got the rail but it was a fight to get it.

So we got the rail and all seemed good but it wasn't. Right near the end of lifehouse's set Melanie passed out. She's on the ground and she looks up and I'm like "melanie!! are you okay??" as I'm helping her back up and she tells me she is, gets back up and stands next to me. I'm watching her because I could just feel that she wasn't okay...and two seconds later her eyes start closing again and she starts falling backwards. So I grabbed her and held her up until security got to us to take her out of the crowd. They kept asking me if I wanted to go with her but I was freaking out and saying "I don't know what I could do?? What would I do if I went?!" --and so they left me there with these other women we met up with and I'm shaking and flipping out going "should i go? should I stay here?"--I did stay, and after 10 minutes (and security not informing me of the status of my friend) melanie called me to tell me she was okay. She wasn't mad at me for not coming either--she had bought an extra seat in the venue just in case something like that would happen (she has low blood pressure and can't stand for long periods of time). So I turn to tell Beth (who we met up with there) and like two seconds after I turn back around from telling her Melanie is okay...SHE PASSES OUT TOO. So at this point I'm thinking "Wow how can I even enjoy the goo goo dolls now? haha.

Both of them ended up being fine...but...it took a couple songs into Goo for me to even enjoy it. then it was just bittersweet because Mel and Beth weren't there enjoying it with all of us...But it was still the best set list and the most energy I have seen from the Goo Goo Dolls since last July when I started going to see them.

They played stuff from Superstar Car Wash!! I kind of almost peed my pants. They played Lucky Star and Cuz Your Gone (with 1000 words). It was great. They BARELY played anything from Let Love In thank god. They also played "All Eyes On Me" ---which although was strange to hear live, it was still awesome. They played really well too.

After the show Melanie and I met up with Sara and we looked for the one roadie guy that wanted to meet up with Sara after the show (love is in the aiiiiirr:P ) He wasn't showing up and the women that Sara came with were making her leave(even though they said she could stay to hang out with Andy) so Melanie called Damage(John Rzeznik's guitar tech for those of you new to my goo goo doll exploits) to ask where Andy was and he finally came....along with Damage. haha I haven't seen Damage since last July because of a lot of strange, insane reasons...but he was pleasant again like I remembered him. We drank a round of drinks and Melanie and I talked with him four about 45 minutes--then he had to get going because they were going to Buffalo on Saturday and it was a long drive. but it was cool seeing him again.

anyway..yeah show was...interesting. haha. This will probably be the last one on the Let Love In tour for me. But it was a good 6 show run. I enjoyed every experience.....and it's just been... a long strange trip--to be cliche. I can't tell the whole story because what happens at goo shows stays at goo shows;) -but it's just been weird ever since that fateful day back in July of 2006 when Mel and I were just crazy goo fans trying to met the goo goo dolls....

and now it is time for veggie burgers:) haha.

adios
