So...Greer St will be my new home...
After tonight it appears that a certain "Mrs. B" has popped my "lease cherry." This evening after work I went to the apartment and signed a 6-month lease with her for an efficiency apartment in Covington. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I am excited because I finally get to take (psuedo-) ownership of my own place, but I am also a little nervous because, clearly, this is my first time to ever enter into a contractual lease. It's a cozy little apartment...aka, small. But it works. It's nothing special, but it has plenty of room for a bed and a computer desk, comes with a new fridge and has a stove, oven, a dresser, a lamp, and even a little cabinet mounted above the stove for dishes. It's only 295/month and utilities are free (unless I want to put in an A/C, which is an extra 30/month), so it is definitely affordable. My first official day there is Sunday, but she went ahead and gave me the keys so I can start moving things in tomorrow. Which reminds me, I have to get off of here so I can transfer money into my checking account, so that's it for the update. If you are lucky I might post pictures soon :-)
By the way, I agree with you, Susannah, that people need to start getting worried about the government increasingly snooping through confidential and private information of Americans. Not that I dont do it all the time when Im at work and I see a cute boy and want to know where he's been spending his money, but I totally agree with you. :-)
