I guess the last few weeks have been pretty confusing, right?  I still don't really understand everything that was going on yesterday.  And then there was the thing with the costumes.

[The boy smiles awkwardly.]

Even if we can't trust it, it wouldn't be right to let someone cry just because it might be dangerous.

[Takato opens his mouth to agree, but at that very moment Guilmon takes off running towards the alley.]

Ahhh! Guilmon! Wait!

[And Takato of course goes running after him.

[That didn't sound good. Dammit! Running faster now.]

[Takato chases after Guilmon into the alley, slowing down and looking around as he finally catches up.]

Why did you do that, boy? I told that person we would wait.

[The digimon is crouching down and growling at something in the shadows.]

Guilmon smelled something wrong! Get ready, Takatomon!

[Action]

[It takes a few more minutes but Adam reaches the outside of the park. Cursing mentally he tries to figure out where the boy had run off to until he too heard the crying.]

...shit.

[He then rushes down towards the alley in which Takato had gone in and spots him along with...a red dinosaur??]

I thought I said to stay where you were.

[Takato turns and smiles a little sheepishly. In his hand he holds a strange electronic device and a deck of cards.]

Sorry, sir. My partner smelled something in here, so I had to follow him.

And that in itself is dangerous.

[The ranger looked straight ahead and noticed the crying had stopped. He was hoping that the threat was over...then again, the Power has had a streak with making his life miserable.

Suddenly, something lunged and Adam quickly parried with his rod]

Nngh! You two get out of here! I'll hold it off!

[Action]

[Takato jumps back at the sight, and trades a quick look with Guilmon. That was all they needed to completely understand their agreement.]

We can't do that. [He raises up the device in his hands and slashes a card through.] Card Slash! High Speed Plug-in S! Strength Plug-in H!

[And the red digimon blurs forward far too fast for something of his size, slamming into the creature attacking the adult.]

[Whoa, that dinosaur was fast! The witch staggered back but before launching another lunging attack at the human man instead of the digimon. Adam watches and ducks down while bringing both legs up and double kicking the creature backwards and away from the other two.]

[Takato jumps backward, drawing another card out of his hand as he does. In a quick movement he draws it through his device.]

Card Slash! White Wings!

[And in a glow of data, a set of six glowing white wings appear on the digimon's back. He tenses and jumps in the air.]

Now, Guilmon! Pyro Sphere!

[And the dinosaur spits out a large ball of red flames directly at the creature.]

[Action]

[The witch shrieks as the fire hits her, cowering back and holding her head. Adam noticed that the fire attack seemed to hurt it more.]

That's it! It's weakness is fire!

[He's not wasting any time and goes on the offensive, aimming his rod right in the middle of her head.]

Wait until he's out of the way, boy. Then the strongest fireball you can make!
