he closes his eyes and prays for a dream
as she lies awake
unable to sleep
she cries as the nite drones on
and he finds solace in his new reality
the two seperated by city streets and buildings
and miles upon miles of fear
morning comes and the sun pushes the stars aside
he gently awakens and gives a heavy sigh
she never slept
sunrise was the most perfect thing she's ever seen
she wishes she knew what perfection was
he simply wishes to find matching socks
the two step into the daylight
and into the city drone
wandering aimlessly in a crowd of strangers
the two pass each other and exchange smiles and stares
smiles and stares turn into late nite walks along the beach
pretending the stars are just barely out of reach
he "grabs" one and says its his gift to her
she blushes, then kisses him
the two have found each other
at least two, have found their happiness
in a world of so much pain and suffering
at least two, these two,
have found happiness.
