Work update!

Hey guys!
This isn't a personal update - but if you could fill this out for us that would be AMAZING!

Dave Letterman calls our current tax system: "No Millionaire Left Behind Program"

I am currently working for an AWESOME project (thank ya, kels) entitled: S.A.V.E. (Support American Volunteer Efforts)

and we could really use your help!

It won't eat up more than a minute of your time - and the benefits will be enormous in the long run!

S.A.V.E. is an organization that is coordinating support for the bill HR4387

The bill was co-written by Andrew Martin (creator of Annie's Mac and Cheese and SmartFood popcorn) and Washington lawyer Dave Coffman, former tax adviser to the Senate, and introduced by Congressman Hinchey. The bill that is currently before Congress proposes that volunteers receive tax refunds equal to minimum wage - $5.15 per hour - for their time spent at volunteer work, up to a limit of $2,000 per year. Besides saving the cost of hiring professionals, the refunds would most likely be channeled back into the community. And given recent tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, it's only fair, said Martin. S.A.V.E.'s website lists an array of recent tax cuts for the oil industry, despite the continuously rising price of fuel, as well as millions in savings for groups from NASCAR to Starbuck's to pharmaceutical corporations.

Essentially, the bill is to make volunteers eligible for up to a $2,000 tax credit! don't be worried about the word "credit" it just differentiates it from a tax refund, so it would be direct - no percentages, just straight money back!

To do this we really need people to fill out a form which won't take any more than a few seconds of your time, and supply us with VITAL information for our cause! (don't worry, it's not binding!)

The website is under construction (it may be changed relatively soon) but we need AS MUCH INFORMATION as possible [ie: tell your friends! ]

Thank you in advance SOOO much!
