10 Day Meme
Day 1 - Ten random facts about yourself
Day 2 - Nine things you do everyday
Day 3 - Eight things that annoy you
Day 4 - Seven fears/phobias
Day 5 - Six songs that you're addicted to
Day 6 - Five things you can't live without
Day 7 - Four memories you won't forget
Day 8 - Three words you can't go a day without
Day 9 - Two things you wish you could do
Day 10 - One person you can trust

Nine things you do everyday:
  1. Get up early for at least an hour of alone time before the house starts to stir.  I'll say this is a 95% of the time thing, though.  Sometimes I let myself sleep - on the rare occasion.  Introversion with twins and an extroverted wife means I have to carve out time for self care where I can.
  2. Read a book.  Read something every day!
  3. Play. Usually some sort of make-believe with the kids or indulging their make-believe play.
  4. Check the weather.  Either on my phone or watching the morning news in my morning quiet time.
  5. List three things I want to accomplish during the day, but don't beat myself up over it if I get derailed.
  6. Think of three things I am grateful for when I turn off the light before closing my eyes at night.
  7. Drink 64+ ounces of water.
  8. Kiss my wife, kiss/hug my kids.
  9. Check my page-a-day calendar.  This year it is 1000 Places to Go Before You Die.  Awesome pictures, geography, and history lessons daily!

We are expecting more snow tonight.  Can you believe it? (Okay, Northerners, I know I have no room to gripe ;) )  The Race13.1 10K/Half Marathon is this weekend on the greenway near our house and I just wonder if it will still happen?  With a new coat of snow on top of the black ice I hurdled this morning on my 3.25 miler, I cannot see how it would be safe to run on by Saturday (at 7:00 AM) when the temperature is supposed to be in the teens.  Luckily I'm used to running in the teens at that time of the morning, so if I didn't have to deal with Black Ice, I'm sure to have a leg up on all those afternoon runners who wait until it warms up in to the 30s!

I haven't registered yet because I'm waiting to see what happens.  Plus, I kind of hate paying 50$ to run.  Sigh.  I'm going to have to get over race registration fees if I want to accomplish my running goals this year, though.  I have races to run!  I want to register for the color run, but can't find a team to rally around me.  I'll have to find one to barge in to, I guess.  At least I'm not shy about that!

It was 19 degrees this morning when I left the house.  I'm getting spoiled to running without feeling overheated.  As much as I miss the days of running trails surrounded by sweet-smelling honeysuckle, I am loving the winter running scene.  Except for the ice.  Man.  The ICE.
