As I work on a track, I sometimes have the tv on as a background noise
Lately I've been hearing this same voice over and over, on a variety of commercials (don't ask me which, I wasn't watching).
It's a guys voice, he's kind of trying to do the "talking in a soft yet rugged manner, smooth and deep" kind of thing... But one time I heard him, he kept getting this vaguely irish lilt whenever he made "rrr" sounds... but not quite, and almost sounded jamaican at times, or like he was trying to be. In a different one it was for some sport thing or nike or something I think (i seem to recall him talking about winning) and he sounded straight up jamaican,or like he was trying to be, until at the end when he had to say "r"'s and went into the irish lilt mentioned above.
It's got to be the same guy, as I don't know who would have that distinctive problem (and the base voice tone is the same, as is the cheesy presentation manner)... nor why any voice company would hire him.
Shit, if that guy can get a job doing voice over stuff... hook a brutha UP. I wonder how one gets into that business, other than via the agent route. Something to look into, I suppose.
