i've been reading "house of leaves" lately.
between the obvious glimpses of sheer horror and bending of space and sound, there are mentions quite worthy of lj'ing.
and i quote[in parentheses] from danielewski, who quotes from ovid:
(... Narcissus' rejection "emoriar, quam sit tibi copia nostri" to which echo responds "sit tibi copia nostri."*)
oh, unrequited love.
(chi dara fine al gran dolore?
l'ore.**)
* narcissus: "may i die before i give you power over me." echo: "i give you power over me."
**"who will put an end to this great sadness?" "the hours passing."
