kill mode

well, i think the important thing to remember today is that if you or a loved one, at ANY point, need to be in a hospital for an extended stay MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PRIVATE ROOM! no, really. the drs will assure you that you don't, and that it won't be a problem, but they lie. don't listen to them. pay out of pocket for a private room, but for the love of god don't get a roomate. ever. the other half of mom's room was generally occupied by people just here overnight, until the other day. the lady *seemed"* sweet enough, if a little lonely. turns out she is crazy. in the freaky, run away and hide kind of way. on large doses of valium and what not.
the other day she was nosing in our side of the room about the thermostat, wanting to mess with it, and asking me how to adjust it... well, mom is still having hot and cold flashes, and we finally got the room to a bearable temperature - between 70 and 78, but it fluxuates all the time because it is *broken*  and i kept trying to explain this to the woman, and mom actually, and i don't understand why no one believes me when i say it is broken... but the crazy woman kept wanting to play with it, but she couldn't figure out where the part to adjust it was, and i certainly wasn't going to show her. then today she was VIOLENTLY yanking on the curtain that divides the room, to the point where she pulled it completely away so there was no divider... well mom likes to keep her side completely enclosed because she thinks it keeps the room warmer (it doesn't because the thermostat is broken, but whatever) so i nicely asked crazy if i could close it because mom gets a chill when there is a breeze, and she was being a jerk about it. i don't know *why* she wants us to be able to watch her use her bedside commode, ew. then crazy was freaking out about where we had the pull out bed located, because it is right against the curtain divider. now, normally, i would just move it, but the room is SMALL, and there is only one place we CAN put it. so i had it up against the wall so that my pillow didn't slide off the top, but that had the bed right up on the curtain, and the woman has her chair right up against the curtain, so the bed was bothering her. now seeing as she has less furniture because she doesn't have any visitors, it would seem easier for her to move her chair three inches away from the curtain instead of making us pull the bed out into the middle of the room and not being able to use a pillow, but no, crazy wants to be a bitch because she wants more valium. so she throws a fit.. so i go get a nurse and explain that the only place to move the bed means that my pillow will end up on the floor after about 5 minutes of sleeping, so maybe you could move her chair instead. then i take mom for a walk. i come back and the nurse just moved the bed instead. fuckers. crazy has also been eyeing up my computer a lot.. and hinting that she wants me to teach her how to use a computer. now, if she wasn't crazy, and i wasn't busy with my own mother, i *might* consider it. i even asked the orderly to see if someone would teach her on the public computers they have, but she keeps eyeing my computer, which makes me hesitant to leave it for even a little, cuz she is nutso. now she is watching kill bill on the hbo or something, which also makes me a little nervous.. hmm, psycho woman watching extreme violence, yeah, bad idea.

so for the love of god, get a private room.
