this is complete horseshit
i went to michael's to get her gift (loads of watercolor stuff)
my credit card was declined.
why?
now im confused.
i know my balance is no more than $400.
and my limit is $1000.
dunno, don't care, must be the machine.
i use debit.
i get outside and check the balance.
$399.
right on the money.
i know now it must be the machine.
i go to my dad's.
leave with Ken for a bit.
get an ice cream cake.
declined again.
this time i don't wanna swipe my debit, because i sometimes pay bills to a pretty low balance, and fall back on credit until my next paycheck.
so now im really annoyed.
i get back to my dad's.
do some stuff, restring Betsy.
and I call chase again.
399.69, but i notice they won't tell me my available credit. although they do say i made a payment of $200 something july 3rd and have no payment due at this time.
i press 0
then don't wanna wait "longer than 10 minutes"
and go online.
now im thinking my credit line must've been reduced because of this depression thingy we're in.
i go online.
my credit line still says $1000
what is going on.
on my way home i call, figuring i'll have enough wait time.
i do.
this guy answers.
i explain to him what i just explained to you.
and he tells me that my credit line was closed because of something experian reported.
now...other than one loan application (i applied for a $3500 loan and was denied a $5000 loan...somebody obviously wasn't listening to me there...) and a credit card application in june...i haven't had ANY credit activity since about april, which was when i got THREE derogatory accounts REMOVED from my credit report...
and my scores went up like crazy.
like...20-30 points.
anyway.
so i told him i've had this account more than 3 years, and why are they closing it.
he said if i want a reason, i'll have it in the mail in 7-10 days.
i used this card TUESDAY.
it's fucking THURSDAY.
and i'm glad i used a different card for Victoria's cake...because apparently I scheduled my tmobile payment and if i paid for the cake ($25) the gift ($55) and the tmobile...i'd have overdrawn.
I'ma get my $60 from Leith tomorrow and deposit it,along with alla my rolled change, just in case.
this pisses me off on so many levels.
i told the guy that this is fucking horseshit, and hung up.
honestly, i don't really care about the card.
i felt a little uncomfortable when my card was declined at two stores in a row.
but other than that it's just fucking irritating that i bring that card with me as a backup, which i NEED sometimes and couldnt.
and furthermore...that i've spent years and years rebuilding my credit, and now this card that has been in good standing probably since i got the fucking thing was CLOSED BY THE GODDAMN CREDITOR which is a very bad thing to have on your report...
also, i was planning to get Stan and Dave the finish for their boats on that card, and repay it when they pay me.
this is fucking aggravating.
i'm gonna have to call chase back again tomorrow.
