It's raining. My dad cut the hedges in the garden this morning and there's a glistening scattering of leftover leaves, like the remains of a spring wedding. There's something magnificent about the clouds today. I've felt awful all day today. Fiona and I had a haircut appointment this morning; luckily, Jo comes to the house, so I got up early and showered and sat there actually crying while she snipped, because I just felt that ill. It never actually came to anything, but the anticipation is worse.

Today has been an almost-perfect reminisce of summer. I had the day off work because I went in on Sunday, so Fiona and I got up early this morning to glorious sunshine, and headed into town. We went shopping today in Leicester, primarily because most of the clothes I got for my birthday didn't fit and had to go back. Sunday was my great auntie Dolly's ninetieth birthday. Her granddaughter, Laura, organised a little party for her over at Stanion Village Hall.
