In the summer time, when the weather is high...

So it's officially summer, English style:
  • My eyes are tearing due to airborne tree pollen.
  • My heating is switched off permanently in my apartment for the first time in ages; the windows are open most of the time while I'm home.
  • Sunburn occurs without having to travel to the South coast, let alone leave the country.
  • I eschew my usual British ales (Pedigree, Old Speckled Hen, Directors, Abbot Ale, et al) for mixed drinks, cool Budweiser Budvar, or shorts of spirits (icy limoncello = hawt).
  • Hot shirtless guys parade the streets.
  • The shisha culture kicks off in my communal yard.
  • Aerosols of Magicool suddenly appear in Superdrug, as though affluent people are unable to stay cool otherwise. Shelves of sunscreen and self-tanning lotions appear from nowhere.
  • My umberella (ella... ella...), while still carried around with me at all times due to me being realistic, remains unused-often for many days at a time.
  • Shorts may be worn to work (at the pub, obviously, not at the office!), without me looking like too much of a dickhead. And my crazy baggy hoodie is not needed for the commute there.
