two trips to hawaii this month was exausting. the days that i was home was either working or catching up on sleep.

but anyway, i finally get to write about hawaii.

so my first trip was for my dad's 60th birthday. he had a huge party at pacific beach hotel. there was 200 people. a lil much, there was even centerpieces that i was frantically making an hour before the reception started. he made me take pictures all night also. damn, i surprise him then he puts my ass to work. my god mother who works for hyatt got this sweet suite in waikiki. we managed to shove 6 people in the room all weekend. i got to hang with my girls that night. it was first frieday or something in downtown honolulu. its pretty crazy how downtown is now a happening place. i remember back when hanging out there at 15 years old catching shows at the zone. i feel like such an old timer.

i was able to squeeze a trip to kauai to make wedding arrangements. my reception site and rehearsal dinner is locked in. the reception site is so seclueded where the restaurant sites on an empty military base primarily used to recreation (vacation cottages). the manager was talking about how this places pre 911 was always bumpin. now, always empty. it was even more beautiful then the pixs i've seen online. i sat on the restaurant deck for an hour after our meeting. i just couldn't believe it. i'm also torn about getting married at a church. i made a quick stop to a church i grew up in. it sits on top of a hill side, in the middle of the cane fields with a view of the ocean. i started crying. it was weird. maybe the realization that we are getting married. now a scared kind of cry, but like a happy cry.

*the view from restaurant. looks even better in person

so second trip was for mary's wedding. it was at haiku gardens. i dragged don with me for this trip. we rented a car and i forced him to rent a PT cruiser convertable. his manlyhood was gone for the weekend. we stayed at alamoana hotel for 2 days so we could stumble home after partying. they made major renovations that the rooms look straight outta the ikea show room floors. the best part of the trip was seeing friends again. it was like a mini reunion. it should happn more often.
mary's wedding was amazing. she look absolutely stunning. ofcoarse its mary, she's always so beautiful. but even more that day. they had a 7 piece mariachi band throughout the ceremony. the day was amazing.

anyway, hawaii was great, its crazy to think the next time i'll be going there is to get married. i bet my co-workers are sick of hearing me talk bout the wedding. in 6 months it will be over.
