So I had this whole blog prepared, but while I was at school today a student was shot at a nearby high school and the whole idea of my post went out the window.
He was shot by the resource officer at his high school - he had taken a modified baseball bat to the officer who shot him in self defense with his secondary weapon.
The student's dead.
It's weird... I work at the high school where they send the problem kids. Some of my students went to this high school before coming to the continuation high school. Some though it was gang related, one ran off to call his "homies"...
Guess it's a reality I'll have to face, considering the population I wish to work with, but damn. That so easily could have happened at the school I work at.
