Book update:

#14: The Mystery of Grace by Charles de Lint
I always forget how much I love his storytelling. Every time a new book of his comes out I always procrastinate on getting it. Then eventually I read it, and love it, and wonder why I don't pick them up on the release date. Then I put it in my collection of books and realize just how many of his books I have. I weed through my books and get rid of several at least once a year, but his books are never in that pile. I love his style of storytelling. He weaves myth and folklore into every day. This is about a woman named Grace who dies at the beginning of the book. It's about what happens to her after. It's magical and entertaining. I loved it.

#15: Lips Touch Three Times by Laini Taylor
This is a collection of 3 stories all centered around a kiss. All of the stories feel like retelling of forgotten folklore, but they are not your usual Western European tales. The first is about a gypsy girl who's longing for a different life captures the attention of goblins. The second is about a girl in India who is cursed at birth that any sound she makes will kill all those around her. The third is about a changeling trying to understand what makes her different and why. All three are very well-written and gripping stories.

#16: The Complete Guide to Writing Fantasy Vol 3 edited by Valerie Griswold-Ford
This is the 3rd book in the complete guide series. The first 2 books covered a lot of topics ranging from writing styles to specifics about creating fantasy worlds. This one focused on what happens after you've written the book. It covers basics like finding an agent and publisher to more down the road topics like marketing and promoting your book. It's all geared towards the Fantasy/Sci-fi markets. While I am no where near being at this stage, it was full of great information and tips. As with the other books in the series, each chapter is written by a different published author.
