So I woke up this morning, freaking out because Payroll lost my employment forms and they didn't let me know that until after I'd worked for an entire week. They're all telling me that I should not have worked, that my hours are lost, and that I can't work at all until I get my forms filled out and all of my identification to the school for them to see. Which is just great because both Payroll and Dining Services are on vacation and won't be back until Tuesday.
I called my mom and she was going crazy trying to get as many of my documents as she could find so I could have them here by Tuesday morning when I could get everything figured out. Apparently she lost my social security card, so that's awesome. I basically cried and had a nervous breakdown on the phone with her for a few hours.
Then my dad called on the phone he got for me to call him on, so I hung up with Mom and explained the whole situation to him. He basically told me that I should work anyway and if they give me problems, he was gonna come down here and get up in their faces. Didn't make me feel much better because I would like to be able to handle this responsibly. And I don't want to be that girl, you know?
So Mom called back on my phone and I had to hang up with Dad. She found out how to get another Social Security Card for me but it might take a few weeks. Suuper. And then I called Dad back to tell him she was getting that taken care of, when I get another lovely email from Payroll.
They had my forms the entire time. Learning Services had them since I'd been asked to tutor last semester. That's another thing I accidentally forgot to handle but I might just do that next semester anyway so that's okay. So there's no problem. I'm still getting paid for last week's hours I worked, I can continue to work with no issues, and everything is completely taken care of. I called Mom and told both of my parents that everything was good, one phone on each ear, and that was kind of amusing. Since it's pretty obnoxious that they won't speak to each other so I have to constantly repeat what I say and keep them seperately updated most of the time anyway.
I'm still kind of recovering. But it's good that everything's taken care of. And then my dad told me that he and Judy went on a hot air balloon ride early this morning as her birthday present.
He asked her to marry him and she said YES!!
