Something I'm learning very quickly in my life is never say never.
I've done a few things I thought I'd never do. Not that they are necessarily bad things (well I certainly enjoyed them) but they are things I didn't think I had in me.
One thing I can say with a certainty though - sex with my ex was never as good as this.
I met this guy who is in a cover rock band with my cousin's husband. He's the lead guitarist, Australian (holy fuck me that accent), and 42. At first sight there was a definite chemistry, but I didn't realize how deeply it affected him until the next day.
To keep things short and sweet, he's positively smitten with me, and I've given into the physical temptation of things but have been firm in letting him know there are no intentions on my part to pursue a relationship. I promised myself I wouldn't seriously get involved with someone I've been intimate within the first couple days of knowing them. Besides - he's getting himself untangled from a marriage (he's been separated from her for months and now trying to divide the assets) and the age difference is a bother to me. The ex was 7 years older, and he is double that. While, as far as I can see, he's at least 20 times better than he was, I have certain limitations that at this time I choose not to cross. Not only that, but with him just getting out of a marriage I don't think he should attach himself to the first thing that he sees. I don't want to be tied down just yet either - I never gave myself the chance to really date around and find someone completely compatible with me. This is my time, and it seems like he understands this.
Life has been interesting.
