There are things visible to naked eyes yet also blurred by the darkness of confusion. People who don’t have the power to see those mentioned things, are pitifully blinded by reality and its effects. But then one day, when pain comes to an end and feelings take over, they will for sure realize the mere existence of which they obliviously ignored.
Kame walks in the practice room. He knows he is really late. But he is sleepy since he didn’t sleep last night. He was up worrying if Sakura got into trouble or if Jin calls or not. Therefore, Kame spends most of his time tossing on the bed without find a soft spot.
Opening the door, he doesn’t expect to be yelled at. After all, Ueda’s expression has softened much these days. But no…
“KAMENASHI! What are you thinking? It’s Monday! Explain why you are late!”
He meets a furious Ueda the first thing in the morning, which signals nothing but a really bad day ahead.
“Sorry Ueda…”
Kame smiles with puppy eyes.
“Well you’re in a good mood today.”
Based on Ueda’s voice, Kame knows that Ueda doesn’t expect Kame to not hit him back with nasty words and stuff.
“I guess I am now quite clear.”
“Good! Because we’ll be practice Bokura no Machi de.”
“I guess…”
Kame sighs as he thinks about having to sing with Akihara Itaru. Despite the fact that Akihara is a real good vocalist, Kame can’t stand having to be in the same band as Akihara and having him replaced Jin that way. But he calms himself down, because he knows…. By waiting, everything shall work out the way they’re suppose to be.
“Akihara… is not going to be in Bokura no Machi de.”
Junno whispers to Kame as Kame almost trips over a tiny piece of oxygen and falls.
“What?! Why is he not in?”
Kame asks, half relieved and half surprised.
“Ueda came and talked to Johnny…”
“And persuaded him.”
Ueda snickers triumphantly.
“What did you tell him to make him change his mind?”
“Oh nothing much… just that KAT-TUN are not ready to have a new member and that with this restrained combination we’re not going to go anywhere… and maybe other stuff.”
Ueda shrugs and walks away while Junno mutters into Kame’s ears discreetly.
“He told Kitagawa-san much more. I don’t know what they talked about but Ueda was in Johnny’s office for like… 2 hours. Then he came out, looking totally drained out but happy. I don’t know what happened to Ueda but yesterday he told us to come here and we worked on another Bokura no Machi de version for only 5 of us. I thought we were just making it for fun to encourage Jin or something like that. Never expected Ueda to confront Kitagawa-san with such a request and won…”
Junno shakes his head, massaging his forehead.
“I guess when our leader Ueda really wants something, no one can stop him.”
Kame can swear he sees Junno shivers a little. He smiles.

Days pass days, hours pass hours, minutes pass minutes as and seconds pass seconds… Kame can’t keep count anymore. The only evidence that shows him how long Jin’s been absent in his life is a calendar. Kame forcefully crosses out each and everyday without Jin. Although Kame doesn’t know how long he can keep crossing out numbers, counting the day for Jin, he sure wants to stop doing it.
It’s almost December and winter is coming without greetings. The weather gets colder as time flies. Wearing a huge sweater, walking on the street in the night, Kame feels so lonely. Is it just the coldness of the wind from the north that is making Kame shiver, or is it the loneliness buried deep inside his soul that is trying desperately to tear its cover and break out? Kame finds no answer. Still walking, keep walking, Kame knows exactly where his destination is. Yet he feels so lost. Strolling under the dim lights of the small road, Kame starts to wonder if Jin is alright over there. Questions follow questions. Kame takes out his cellphone and takes a look at the telephone directory. He’s already saved Jin’s American number in the address book, but never once press the button to call.
Jin’s been away for like two months… and Kame hasn’t talked to him ever since that very incident that broke his heart. Kame looks at his phone, hesitates. What should he do? Jin is drifting away from him, and that’s the least thing Kame wants in this world. But what can he do? With a stubborn Jin so far away from him, Kame is out of plans.
Deciding that it shouldn’t be time to weep over sentimental stuff, Kame pull the scroll bar down and press the button.
“Moshi moshi?”
“Ueda?”
“Oh! Hi Kazuya. How are you? When are you gonna be here?”
“I don’t know… about ten minutes?”
“Okay. Make sure you come early okay? Cuz everyone is already here and we can start the party without you.”
Kame hears Ueda laughs as Junno’s voice can be heard over the phone. Kame smiles. That’s right… this surely is a day to celebrate. Because tomorrow, KAT-TUN is releasing a new single called Bokura no Machi de. Even though KAT-TUN is a unit formed with 6 members, this song is only sung by 5. Jin is away.
Kame closes his eyes and remembers. That’s right. There was another guy called Akihara Itaru. He was invited into KAT-TUN by Kitagawa-san. And he’s really good. But under the pressure and hatred from the other members, he left KAT-TUN temporarily. Kitagawa-san said that Akihara wouldn’t be singing in Bokura no Machi de which made all the members of KAT-TUN relieved.
But yesterday, right…. Yesterday, Akihara came to KAT-TUN’s practice room and congratulate them on having their new single released. And he didn’t even act like it was him who was practically thrown out of the group. He cheered for them and conducted this party to celebrate their song. Kame can’t understand that guy anymore. But something worries him more…
Akihara did say that he’s going to participate in their next single no matter what with a very determined look whatsoever. And Kame knows that Johnny must have approved of this because Akihara seemed so sure of himself. His certainty makes Kame fear… Fear more and more that Jin is not going to come back.
Kame shakes his head, wipes Jin’s image off his head. As he has said before, this is suppose to be a day to be celebrating… so there is no reason to weep…

Jin taps his fingers on the desk. In front of him lies a brand new single CD of KAT-TUN release Bokura no Machi de. Ueda sent it to him a few days ago even though it is only suppose to be out tomorrow. Jin sighs. Oh well, there’s only one thing to do. He opens the CD box and put the disc in the CD player.
The music that comes out from the song soothes Jin’s soul. He’s surprised himself how he can distinguish who sings this part and who sings the other parts. He smiles. Kame’s voice is really nice in this song. And even without his vocal, Kame’s singing balances the others’ out well.
It’s a good song. Jin nods. Ueda told him about how hard he worked just to get the lyrics together for only 5 people to sing. And Jin has to agree that it’s good work.
Jin stands up. It’s been a really long time since he sings any KAT-TUN songs. He listens to them alright. Every night, before going to bed, he turns on their songs and memorizes the lyrics. He’s always afraid that one day, he might not even be a member of KAT-TUN anymore, and that he won’t be allowed to sing their songs.
Not being a member of KAT-TUN sounds so cruel.
Jin thinks as he moves his body with every beats.
Maybe he did tell Kame that KAT-TUN is better off without him, but that’s not the truth at all.
Jin spins a few laps as the songs rhythms start to go faster.
He loves being with KAT-TUN, he loves being with Kame and everyone.
Jin doesn’t even catch his breathe as he swings his hip and jumps up slightly with his knees bent.
But he can’t be with Kame, no matter how much Jin loves him. He can never be with Kame.
Jin sways and steps backwards as the melody starts going slower and slower.
The world forces him to leave, no one wants to see them together.
As the final note goes down, Jin stops his body and bows to no one with his right hand on his chest.
Yet his love for Kame shall never change.

Jin sits down, slightly panting. He turns on his laptop. Listening to Bokura no Machi de makes him miss KAT-TUN more than ever. How much he wishes just to be with his friends right now, he wants to be able to sing Bokura no Machi de with them, celebrating their release and anticipating the results from the Oricon chart. He misses those days of being in Japan.
Jin wants to leave this lonely cold America place right away and departs for Japan. But that’s one of the thing Akanishi Jin can’t do. Because he knows Johnny will never forgive him, or rather never lets him do so.

“Kitagawa-san? You want me?”
“Yes…. Akanishi-kun. I have something to tell you. So if you please sit down…”
Kitagawa-san indicates the armchair opposite him. Jin did as told, eyes still fixed on Johnny.
“Akanishi-kun. I want you to leave Japan.”
Jin couldn’t believe what he’s hearing.
“Kitagawa-san… what?”
“You see. I’ve been observing you. And I want you to know that you’ve been… mentally unstable.”
“But…”
“Are you telling me that you deny your love for Kamenashi and that everything I said is nonsense?”
Jin froze right on the spot he was sitting. What was Johnny saying? Jin… in love with Kame? How did he know? Jin couldn’t hide the extremely surprised expression on his pretty face.
“That’s right. I want you to leave Japan, so you can have some time to yourself and think things over.”
“But Kitagawa-san… it’s possible for me to think things over in Japan right?”
“Akanishi-kun… you don’t understand what I’m saying. I’m not talking about you thinking about your future with Kamenashi, but thinking about forgetting the future with Kamenashi and go find another.”
Jin stared at Johnny like he had never seen such an old man saying stupid stuff like that before. But Johnny didn’t seem to mind.
“Akanishi-kun. You should know that you and Kamenashi have no future. What you’re feeling now is just merely a trick of your mind. Love, as you thought it is, will soon fade away, and you’ll regret what you’ve done. So listen to me Akanishi-kun. Forget about Kamenashi.”

“Akanishi-kun, listen. As I was saying, you cannot be with Kamenashi and that’s one truth I’m giving you. The other truth is that I’m not letting you two come together even if you want to.”

“What do you think it’ll do to the corporation’s image Akanishi?”

“So everything is set then. You’ll depart a few days after the press conference I’ve arranged for you. Now I’d like you to go back and tell the other members about it.”
Jin left with his heart broken. He knew he cannot protest Johnny. But everything was so… sudden. What was Johnny thinking? He didn’t know anymore.
Jin felt his knees weakened as he almost collapse outside KAT-TUN’s practice room.
