Made in Photoshop 7.0, is translatable

Step 1:
Open your image, crop it and sharpen once



Step 2:
Duplicate your base two times, set the first one to Overlay 100% and the second one to Screen 100%



Step 3:
Create a new Hue/Saturation layer [Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation] and up the saturation to +35



Step 4:
Add a Curves layer [Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves] and use the following settings:
RBG:
Input: 165
Output: 128



Step 5:
Create a new Color Balance layer [Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance] and use the following settings:
Shadows: -82 | 0 | 0
Midtones: 0  | 0 | +50
Be sure that Preserve Luminosity is checked



Step 6:
Create a new fill layer, floodfill it with #443FEE and set it to Saturation 50%



Step 7:
Create another fill layer, floodfill it with #FDFFBB and set it to Soft Light 50%



Step 8:
Duplicate your base, drag it to the top and set it to Soft Light 100%



How to get icon #1:
Add text [I used Asenine Wide and Daisy Script]



How to get icon #2:
Flatten your icon, take your crop tool and crop pieces out of your icon of 50x50 px. Hit Ctrl+Alt+Z to get back at you 'normal' icon. Place the 50x50 px pics on a new base and add a scratch texture (by
peoplemachines) If you like you can add text or use different pictures



And that's it!
If your icon turns out to bright lower the opacity of the Overlay layer or delete it.
