I <3 the new promo stills for POTC 3 (see here, stays public for a week) so I made a tutorial to add some color to them.

Made in Photoshop 7.0, not translatable, use of Selective Color

Step 1:
Open your picture, crop and sharpen once



Step 2:
Duplicate your base and set it to Screen 100%



Step 3:
Create a new Selective Color layer [Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color] and use the following settings:
Reds:
Cyan: -32
Magenta: 0
Yellow: 0
Black: -46

Yellows:
Cyan: -100
Magenta: 0
Yellow: 0
Black: -37

Blues:
Cyan: +100
Magenta: +68
Yellow: -100
Black: +74

Neutrals:
Cyan: -8
Magenta: -13
Yellow: -20
Black: 0



Step 4:
Create a new Hue/Saturation layer [Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation] and up the Saturation to +50



Step 5:
Create a new Color Balance layer [Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance] and use the following settings:
Shadows: +29  | +29  | +24
Midtones: +34  | 0  | 0
Highlights: 0  | 0  | 0



Step 6:
Create a new layer, floodfill it with #E1B2B8 and set it to Soft Light 100%



Step 7:
Duplicate your base, drag it to the top and set it to Hue 100%



You can add text/brushes/textures if you like.
Done!
