- Julie
Julie is doing OK in rehab. I've spoken with her briefly a few times, but she is very weak, so we don't talk long. She did say she went to the doctor yestreday and that she was healing well. I continue to worry about her and pray for her.
- Neilli
Miss Neilli is doing well. I took her for a recheck on Tuesday. Dr. Bissell was pleased that the muscle atrophy not gotten any worse. Otherwise, she is just fine, eating and chewing and yawning normally.
I am going to a wedding on Saturday. The event is up past Baltimore. Since this is a holiday weekend, I don't want to try to do the wedding and come home Saturday night when all the crazy drunk people will be celebrating the last weekend of the summer: I made reservations at a hotel so I can stay over a return home Sunday morning.
Patti has company with 2 canine companions this week, so Chez 5920 is temporarily out of service.
I've made reservations for Neilli at Old Town Pet Resort. I used to live nearby and passed this place every day when it was being built. They have a system that recirculates the air in the entire place every six minutes...like some hospitals. A friend of mine boarded her 2 dogs there and said it was faaaabulous, so I decided to give it a whirl (and my vet's boarding is closed Sunday and Monday, meaning I would be dogless for two days when I get back...not happening).
OMG! Talk about premium services. I kind of want to stay there. If you explore the site a little, you'll see that they have virtual tours...Neilli is staying in a 5 star canine suite. Aunt Patti is paying for her to have the swim activity.
Perhaps it should be noted here that my stay in Baltimore is $60 and hers is...well, more than $60. I'll let you all know how it goes!
- Jaycee Dugard
I am horrified by the story of Jaycee Dugard, her children, and her family. I've been looking for a place to donate and finally found it.
Help for Jaycee Dugard:
Jaycee’s grandmother (Joan Curry) worked for Viewtech for almost 25 years. Many of us vividly recall Joan’s relentless efforts to recover Jaycee. Many, both here and at Volt Information Sciences (our former parent company), helped Joan produce and distribute flyers and posters following the kidnapping and for many years thereafter.
Joan called us last week as the news was breaking. It was clear that Jaycee and Jaycee’s Mom (Terry Probyn) need help. We’ve been in contact with Bank of America and a referred attorney to establish a trust fund for Jaycee. As expected, it will take time to establish the trust.
We cannot presume to comprehend what they’re going through, but our perspective is that they have endured many years of anguish, a few days of elation, and now face a lifetime of challenge to rebuild their lives. We expect the mental health, medical, dental, and educational needs will be enormous. Any financial help will be appreciated.
For donations to help with Jaycee and Terry’s immediate financial needs:
Make checks payable to:
Terry Probyn.
Mail to:
Terry Probyn,
c/o Viewtech,
P O Box 596,
Atwood, CA 92811
(We’ve made arrangements with Bank of America to make daily deposits to get Terry immediate help)
For longer term help:
Make checks payable to:
Jaycee Lee Dugard Trust Fund
Mail to:
Jaycee Lee Dugard Trust Fund,
c/o Viewtech,
P O Box 596,
Atwood, CA 92811
(We will be delivering these checks to Bank of America to hold until the Trust Fund is established)
PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH OR PACKAGES.
We’re sorry, but at this time donations should not be considered tax deductible.
Thank you for your support.

- Bordello or Psych Test?
I discovered this site the other day: http://lovelylisting.com/
It is a compendium of unfortunate real estate listings. They're pretty funny (or sad, depending on your point of view).
I got to this posting and just about lost it. OMG!
I was afraid the actual listing would disappear (as real estate listings are wont to do), so I made a slideshow from the images... I'd say enjoy, but I'm not sure that's the kind of experience I'm inviting you to have...
So, that's it...hope you are all doing well!
