Feels weird not to have booze in my system. I pondered having a couple just to level myself out! ;) I am back home, tired but happy! It was a damn good trip, best I've taken it a long time.
As promised, Saturday was indeed Coney Island and a boat trip to get pics of the Statue of Liberty. Saturday night wasn't very good to me. I just wasn't feeling well (and not from too much booze if you can believe that). Wandered by Ground Zero, but there really isn't anything to see there. That night we went to a bar called the Red Rock. Interesting place. "It's like Coyote Ugly, but better," Zach said. I can't confirm that as I didn't see the movie, but it did feature hot bartenders dancing on the bar, along with any women who wanted to join them, and the bartenders lighting the bar on fire and occasionally riding/whipping the male clientèle. Just an all around surreal experience, but for $8 a drink come ready to spend lots of cash!
Sunday featured all you can drink Mimosas for breakfast, and a chance to repent (St Patrick's Cathedral) and much walking around just snapping pictures, which hopefully I will post some of soon. Saw Indiana Jones, which was ok. I had wanted to go to the top of the Empire State building but when we got there we found out the line was 2.5 hours long. Wisely, we passed and went straight to Zach's favorite bar, The Dead Poet. ...I'm not going to lie, details from that point are a little fuzzy. I had their signature drink, The Dead Poet, which has 7 shots in it and tastes like grape soda. I know I was doing amazingly well at pool for a short time, even won a game. I know that Zach's friend Josie was a dead ringer for April, at least in my drunken state. I know Zach's roommate Angela should NOT have taken Brooke's dare and had her own Dead Poet. Although I do appreciate that she was willing to flirt with me all night after that! That always makes for a better night!
And then it was too few hours in bed before heading off for the plane. Again, my thanks to Zach for an awesome weekend. My thanks to his roommates for putting up with me, coming to hang out with us, and being all around awesome. Zach, you'll have to get me their myspaces if you would please. I'm not sure who's who on your list.
Now it's back to work! *BLECH* At least I can look forward to Eddie Izzard in just 21 short hours!
