The dog barks happily and follows at Katara's heels, the beast coming up to about her hip. It seems well-mannered and trained, and its fur is groomed immaculately. It keeps pace with Katara, seemingly unalarmed at the the way the water from the fountain seems to cling to and follow the water bender.

The gazebo is peaceful and shaded, with a lovely view of the gardens all around. A few petals fall from the climbing roses, scattering over Katara's hair in a rather improbable but pleasant way.

A tall, thin woman with blond hair and a modest but expensive dress comes walking out towards the gazebo. The dog's tail wags at the sight of her, and she pets the animal as she gets close. "Rhode." The woman seems a little sickly and pale, but very kind. In the way of dreams Katara may feel being addressed by the wrong name as perfectly normal--in this dream that is her name, after all.

"Your father wants you inside." The woman holds her hand out to Katara, and in the same way of knowing in dreams, Katara will know this woman is supposed to be her mother--though there's something a little off about that feeling, as if it's not quite right.

"Of course."

Katara (Rhode? Katara-Rhode?) smiles a little uneasily at the woman, the woman who is her mother but isn't, and simply takes her hand, because that's what she's supposed to be doing right now. She squeezes her fingers gently, casting a look over her shoulder to take one last look at the garden, as if trying to memorize the layout of it.

"I'm sorry. I didn't realize I was out so long."
