"You don't know them, Allen. For all your compassion, there's no way you could remember them as I do. Before they became as pitiful as they are now." He raises a hand, placing it over his face, continuing to speak that way, expression hidden. His words answer Allen's thoughts, as well as Allen's words. Such is the nature of dreams.
"I never claimed I had no hand in the pattern. We all did. Mana, your master, myself. Even my brother plays his part to write the symphony we dance to. And now you are ready to play yours--ready in all but will. You're angry, you're hurt--such is the way of the world when you feel betrayed by those you trust."
The hand drops and Neah looks up from the piano, reaching his hand out to Allen. A silent invitation. "There is more history than you know, Allen. Do you wish to understand my anger? To understand why you've suffered so? Take my hand. See things the way I do. Understand the world from my eyes--We both wish to stop my brother. If the other details mean so much to you, walk in my shoes."

Every word Neah says adds a new layer of distrust to Allen's mind, like a puzzle being fitted together. How could he trust someone like this? He's seen Rhode both as a terrible enemy and as a strange human being that held her hand out to him in a world that was against him. He'd seen Tyki do the same. The man had looked so lost when he first got here.
Mana. Had Mana really planned to turn him into the brother he'd lost? He didn't know what to think about it. Just like when his master told him that his mind blanked. His master...
Ready to consumed and die? No. He refused to accept that was his role. He still had other choices, other paths he could take.
"I want your word, your promise that if I look through your eyes you are not allowed to consume me, to influence me, and you are not permitted to force your will upon mine."
