I wrote a drabble where the Stephen Colbert character crushes on President Obama

xposted preamble:

Okay, so usually I don't write OR like RPS (ignoring certain conversations instrumental in the courtship that eventually became my marriage.) But fiction involving the fake Stephen Colbert--the character, the one he plays on his show, not the real person who is an actor and a comedian and a liberal--that's not really RPS, is it? OMG Farf!fic! :D

I don't have time to read this right now, but I will later. Just wanted to point your attention in the direction of fakenews_fanfic, if you didn't know it already. They mostly have RPS, but there are a lot of character!Stephen (aka "Stephen") fics there too.

I write RPS m'self, but I understand what you mean about Jon in a Jon/"Stephen" pairing. However, whenever I'm reading a "Stephen" fic, I always seen Jon as fictional anyway, because if Stephen is, he kinda has to be too, because "Stephen" doesn't exist in the real world. Erm. If you see what I mean?

One of my favorite writers, who actually reminds me somewhat of you, is sailorptah. She writes excellent character!Stephen stories, and is also an excellent artist! (http://sailorptah.deviantart.com/)

OK, rambling done now.

LOL, it's only a drabble. But I understand.

Thank you for pointing out that community -- all I knew about was tds_rps, so other places to look for fic = happy times!

sailorptah has written the one story that I mentioned up top but didn't have time to find the link for -- the one where they get switched. I have fed her back but not rec'd her yet. I thought she handled the "real Jon" issue really spectacularly, honestly.

Yeah, I suspected that might have been the story to which you were referring. :) I think what she did was highlight the fact that if "Stephen" is fictional, so is Jon. She's really good at crossovers and all sorts of gender and sexuality releated themes. She has a story in comic form that I recommend - "Needs Met". It's all about a whole heap of various Jons and Stephens from various universes, and how they negotiate their relationships. No, really: http://sailorptah.deviantart.com/art/Needs-Met-page-01-141680331

Oh, and I wrote a "Stephen" story you might be interested in; there are "Stephen"/Jon implications, but the main pairing is Persona!Stephen/repression. :)
