I heard something in government class today that really pissed me off. For the first time, I heard about the new JFK video game. Apparently, the concept of the game is to play the part of Lee Harvey Oswald and try to shoot the former president. I cannot even believe someone would make a video game out of an assassination of a president. That is so disrespectful. He still has family; it would be horrible to see that and know that people are playing a video game on it. Also, it completely disrespects the office. Doesn't anyone have ANY respect for the office of the president anymore? It is like they're making a mockery of how monumental his death was. That was an extremely sad time for our country and the gamemakers are bringing it all back. Kids already play too many violent video games. Now, they can play one that allows them to kill a president? That's crazy. I hear that the goal of this game is to convince people that Oswald could not have acted alone. Apparantly all the conspiracy theorists were ignored so now they have to mess with the minds of children to get their point across. This game will be played by all ages. Kids will not understand the idea of the conspiracy; all they will obtain from the game is how to angle the gun so the target dies. This game is completely inappropriate. This is taking free speech WAY too far.
