the seattle times says it all.....
Holy Names beat Mercer Island 25-17, 26-24, 26-28, 25-17 in a match for third and fourth places. The Cougars from Seattle continued its improbable postseason run, bouncing back from a semifinal loss to Blanchet to claim its first state-tournament berth since 2001.
Holy Names, the lowest-seeded team in the tournament, qualified for district as the seventh-place team from the Metro League. But riding the powerful swing of 6-foot-1 senior Anna McKinney, they beat the Islanders for the second time in three days.
McKinney, who will play next year at Idaho, had 15 kills, 14 digs, six blocks and six aces.
"It was amazing, what else can you say?" said coach Azure Demeules of her team's afternoon that also included a five-game, come-from-behind victory over Eastside Catholic. "In the past two weeks, we've started playing to win instead of playing not to lose."
WE ARE GOING TO STATE! and it feels so damn good to beat eastside freakin catholic.
