Though not like many of you would know what I'm talking about because I haven't been writing lately and thus not updating you on the band that is Preston Demands. I was suppose to have a show tonight, but due to our singer having a throat-eating disease, had to cancel and bail out. My night is free and now I remember I have this thing called a blog.
Which speaking of, I never realize the multitude of people who read this since only 2 people ever really leave comments. I learned recently that a lot of my family members read my blogs and have expressed back to my mom that I am funny and have a certain flair and style when it comes to writing and my social commentary. Then my mom tells me I should be a writer. Then I watch the Oscars and the part where Javier Bardem is with his mom made me sad because I remember telling my mom one day I'm going to take her to the Red Carpet. But if anyone has ever seen my acting, they would know the only carpet I would ever get on is for the Razzies.
Segway into this Thursday where I will be attending a class with best friend Tom for screen writing. I'm excited since I love writing (though I do get bored and lazy with my scripts as you would be able to tell from the numerous unfinished scripts on my computer). But this class should help me and my mom said I should pay for the full class (the first day of class is free). It could be worth it, cuz then I could take my mom down the Red Carpet for most awesome screenplay. Someday. Mayday. I mean with the scripts I have about vampires, romeo+juliet-esque lovers, zombies, and an amnesia-suffering gun-totting anti-hero bent on revenge, one of those have to become a block buster. Right?
I'm happy. Surprised? I'm sure you are. I think this is the first time I've expressed in writing and not through some silly icon how I'm feeling. I won't go into details because I know you guys are here to read about other stuff than some gushy mushy feelings of an ex-emo kid. But I will tell you this: everything happening to me right now is the best thing to ever enter my life.
Nuff of the feelings. Let's get on to some movie news. Every other day, there is more casting news about the new Wolverine movie. Blob, Beak, Sabretooth, Agent Zero, Maverick, Wraith, etc. etc. I'm excited about these two casting news:
Taylor Kitsch as Gambit
and
Ryan Reynolds as Dead Pool
Both are my childhood heroes/anti-heroes. Definitions of cool, witty, and more realistic idea of how one would use super powers. And they have their moments of emo-ness. Perfect casting choice. Fan favorite Gambit will be played by an unknown, so we can't pre-judge what the character will be like. And Ryan Reynolds has the perfect comedic timing to take on the Merc with the Mouth. I can only hope now that this spin-off Wolverine movie will make Dead Pool get his own spin-off movie.
Don't know what else to say. Preston Demands will have a show on March 29th, back at the Knitting Factory. We couldn't get the 1 AM slot. Instead we got the 10 pm slot. Sucks, I know, but I hope you guys make it out.
