What is this?

Livejournal? What the...? Oh, it's that thing I use to write in from time to time to let people know what's up in the world of me. Huh, fancy that. I guess I should go ahead and do just that because let's face it, I know you're all concerned about me since I've moved down to the New York City. And if you're not, don't let me know because it would make me sad. :(

So some updates for you all. One, I found a place to live. A more permanent place to live since the place I lived in before was only a sublet. Place is pretty sweet. I have my own room now and having my own room with my own furniture was the last piece needed to make me really feel like I'm a New Yorker (before I felt like I was only visiting for a month...lame). Only downside is that 1) there is not a single window in my room, so when I wake up at 10 am, it feels like 3 am...all day. 2) I live above a bar. This bar plays music. On weekends, the music is cranked up. Really cranked up. Which sucks when you have to wake up at the very asscrack of dawn.

But luckily, if I ever do have a problem with the volume, I am able to call/visit them and ask to turn it down a notch. They'll cooperate. The bar itself is pretty sweet. It's called Hellgate Social, named so after our infamous bridge. The name makes me feel like I'm part of the Hellfire Club and I should wear some fancy 1800s noble clothes and be obsessed with Phoenix.

On a sidenote, no matter what, my son's middle name will be Phoenix. Blank Phoenix Romanowski. Sounds cool, eh?

Anyway, the surrounding area is awesome. Like I said, close by is the Hellgate Bridge. Did you know that it is so strong that that Discover magazine says it would be the last bridge to fall down due to deterioration and if humans weren't around? Cool beans. Also close by is Astoria Park, which has a very wicked nice view of the city. It's even more beautiful at night. 15 minutes by subway to get to Manhattan, 30 minute walk to work.

Joe, my roommate is awesome. Very nice and laidback, he is beginning his training as an FBI agent. he still has to go through polygraph tests and background checks, but I hope it all works out so he could be assigned to the X-Files and tell me freaky stories about conspiracies. If anything, maybe he'll tell me who really shot JFK.

Speaking of work from earlier before, I will be working on Antigone as a lighting technician come November. No pay, but I'm sure it will pay off in contacts and experience. I might also now be able to be an assistant lighting designer. I just have to go through some talks with the current lighting designer. It's freaky weird how I'm slowly inching my way to an actually job position of lighting guy after only a few weeks in the city. I'm growing up. Scary. Anyway, wish me luck on that one.

No updates on the girl situation. Mainly because before I couldn't exactly bring one home to my sublet room and someone else's furniture. Now that I do have my own room, I need to go out and go on the prowl. Maybe I'll just go to the bar downstairs and be that sleazy guy that always hang out at bars trying to score. Yeah...maybe...just kidding! But seriously, listen up pretty girls, I'm single, so work your magic and come tap my ass. I'm hung like a wookie.

I am also growing out my hair. I know, I said this before and I never go through with it, but this time I am. For real. Fo' sho.'I'm growing it out to look like Sawyer from Lost and/or Jared Leto from 30 Seconds to Mars. I've put up a picture on Myspace of the two plus where I am at the moment. At the rate my hair is growing, hopefully by X-mas I'll be a hottie like those two.

Geez, I wrote a lot. This should last for a month or two. Night y'all.
