Buenos Dias!*
Today was a good day. Even though I couldn't go to Jess's house warming party tonight, it was still a good day. For one, guess who's Employee of the Month?
This guy right here, bitches.
It feels good to be recognized for work, especially only after a month. However, the only downside is that people who didn't know me before hand, now know me as Employee of the Month. So now EotM is my alias, sorta like Spider-Man is for Peter Parker and Superman for Clark Kent. In fact, in the immortal words of Spider-Man:
This is my gift. My curse. Who am I? I'm Employee of the Month.
...Ok, so I might be taking this to my head a wee bit too much, but hey, when you work all the time, it feels good to be recognized for superb popcorn handling skills.
I also saw Superman Returns today. I have never been a fan of him, never understood the red underwear thing, but seeing this movie made me realize something: Superman is the perfect superhero. Now I don't mean power wise persay, we can argue till I die who has the best powers. Even I don't think he has the best powers. What I do mean though is that Supes is the embodiment of doing good for the world. No matter how much shit he goes through in his personal life, especially what with Lois Lane in love with Supes and not Kent, he doesn't lash out at the public. He keeps fighting for them because he believes in the good of the people, something left in him from what his father said:
"Even though you've been raised as a human being you're not one of them. They can be a great people, Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you... my only son."
I want to be a superhero. I want to change the world.
Of course, this whole thing is just my opinion. And this is the best I can explain it, so I apologize.
However, there was one line that bothered me in the movie and even almost ruined the whole movie for me. Lois Lane asks a fellow reporter how many f's there are in "catastrophic." What bothers me is that she is winning a Pulitzer Prize, is the best of the best reporters working at the biggest newspaper company, and she can't spell a word that, when dealing with the city of Metropolis, they probably use a lot. It seems out of character. Oh well, I lived, and the movie is awesome. Go see it.
Adios!**
*Good Day!
**Goodbye!
