thinking?
So I decided to move...closer to work, no less! XP... I'm obviously out of my mind! But I'm soooo tired of the really long drive (over an hour), getting up before dawn to beat the morning traffic (4:30 am), and the money I'm spending in gas (over $400 a month). Plus being closer, I'll be able to put in a bit overtime at work and catch up on some of my skill sets that I've had to let slide.
Le Sigh...So now I've gotten an 2B/2B apartment on reserve. Paid the deposit and everything. Even paid the small animal fee, too! Madison (cat) better appreciate this.
At least I'll save quite a bit in gas...hell, I'll be saving ALOT of $. Not to mention on utilities, too. But oh my...all the stuff I'll now have to buy. I've never been out on my own before, got married right out of high school. So this will be my very first apartment. It's exciting but I also feel nervous and just a little anxious. And now everything has to be split up. So much of it's just junk though or way too big for my new place...so it's into the trash bin or along to charity. But I do get to go SHOPPING...which would be great... if I wasn't such a ...ahem...frugal...person. What can I say? I like saving money. Too bad everything that I like - furniture, kitchenware, ect..., is so expensive! What is it they say...champagne taste on a beer budget? hmmmm....
As an example...I've been looking at sofas. Nothing too big. It has to fit into a smaller space than where I live now...loveset or slightly larger size, maybe. So...some of the ones that have caught my eye....
Of couse, most of these are more than I can afford AND many of them are from companies out of the UK, including my favorite. Damn!
The youngest one thinks I should stick with something a little on the modern side like the blue one (1st one, 2nd row), which has a really lovely striped pattern in the larger photo or perhaps, the deep orange/coral one (2nd one, last row)...do NOT go with my personal favorite says she...unless it's really comfortable. It's a good thing that I'm not moving til the end of Janurary. I'll be able to spread the costs out a bit.
Hmmm...okay...that's interesting...You never really know your own history...or how others might see it... until you see it through the eyes of a Brit. ^_^ I'm currently watching The Travel Channel and they're airing a "Halloween" special - Haunted History-Gettysburg, that was made (apparently) for the UK by some British network. Interesting.Reminds me of a bumper sticker that I saw on the car of an British ex-patriot..."Paul Revere was a snitch". ^__^ Daytona Beach is a mecca for ex-patriots, believe it or not.
Oh well...off to peruse more on-line stores...I've some more icons to put up but I haven't uploaded them yet. Tomorrow for sure.
Toodles.
UPDATE: Youngest has decided that she is going to move with me, after all, instead of living with her father. Better job opportunities where I'm moving to. Guess it's a good thing I got that 2B/2B!
