from Japan!
Awesome Trip! I took tons of photos and bought a decent amount of momentos. Here I was worried that I wouldn't have enought money but I ended up coming back with over half of it! LOL!
You can see some of the
photos here. I've uploaded about half of the ones I took. The rest of mine are on the camera and the youngest took a boatload that I need to get from her. Be forewarned: nothing is labeled...yet.
Here is a sample photo...and one of the reasons I had so much money at the end of our trip....dinner on our first full day there (Tokyo). We were sooo tired after all the sightseeing (and the jetlag!) that we did what many people do. We grabbed dinner from one of the many convenience stores (7-Elevens and FamilyMarts were everywhere!!! Like Starbucks!!!).
1 Egg salad with ham, 1 ham and cheese with greens, a pasta-type salad, Melon Fanta, Coke Zero, and for dessert; cheesecake Kit Kat peices (very popular :oD). Delish!!!! You haven't had egg salad til you've had the japanese version of egg salad. I loved it and ate it often! We ened up going to the convenience stores for dinner a lot. It was cheap, we could try different kinds of foods without spending a fortune only to find out we didn't like it and everything is made fresh several times a day (no preservatives in anything)...yummmm!
Oh...and the coins? Japanese yen in coin form. Soooo easy to use! Great for the vending machines that where everywhere!
I'll write up a full report of our trip, hopefully complete with photos soon. I really enjoyed our trip but there were moments that had me wishing it was all over and back home. Would I go again.? I don't know. It was an experience of a lifetime to be sure and the only thing I can say for certain is......I want to travel more! Next stop Great Britian! With my son (I promised him)!!! Oh lord...WHAT have I gotten myself into??? ROFL!
Later gators...
