this series is about identity. it may be expanded later on.
I am Haley. I was born under another name, have become married, and have been known by myriad of nicknames (Eucharisma, DreamLance, Isilorinda) throughout my years but when I ask myself, "What is your name?", that is the name that comes back. It resonates within me and I find it to appropriate in its meanings of "scientific and ingenious."
I am an artist. This determines how I view the world and how I portray it. I have always been drawing, for as long as I can remember, and the romance of creating something, bringing it into visual existence, still pulls me. I look at the world as an artist, interpret things in such ways. Whether in speech, crafts, or observation, this is the second largest part of my identity.
I am a Libra. But not just because that is the sign of my month. I always weigh the pros and cons of a situation, can see multiple points of view, seek balance in all things. When people read me the astrological characteristics of this sign, I usually find it to be right.
I am a scientist. If I do not understand a situation, this is how I approach it. I am logical but my artistic side makes me infinitely curious about things. My scientific side approaches situations, observes, weighs the factors and decides - but still maintains a sense of wonder for things.
I am a bridge. This is a poetic term. I accept others quickly. I do not seek conflict. I find ways to bring people together - common interests, common beliefs. I always want to mend broken hearts, fix damaged things. It's not a conscious thing though - it just happens.
I am intelligent. I joke often that I'm a dumb blonde but in reality that's not the case. I know my strengths and weaknesses. I see others' easily as well. I know what I know and seek to know things I didn't know about. I'm always trying to learn.
I am talented. Besides my artistic skills, I have musical inclinations so singing and dancing are natural but don't think I'm the best. I know words in many languages, understand the grammar of a few and speak one fairly readily. I know how to design websites, clean guns, dress to impress, cook, and navigate a new city. I have learned how to rely on myself instead of others and thrive on being resourceful.
