Hyuna dragged her feet down the hall, regretting her decision not to study the night before. It wasn't like she didn't care about her Biology class, she just...had other priorities. Like her kinda sorta boyfriend that decided to pop up on her balcony at 10 p.m just after her parents had gone to sleep.
Hyunseung had terrified her - she thought she'd have to bring her bat out from when she was 9 nears old - but there was also something enticing about him going that far. When she asked him what in the hell he thought he was doing, he just smirked - like he always did - and gave her a passive 'I don't know... I just felt like it' before stepping into her room and attaching his lips to hers.
She rolled her eyes before turning into the crowded room only to hear from her teacher that was late for the second time this week. Usually, she would have provided some sort of alibi, anything to maintain her position as a decent student amongst a see of irresponsible classmates, but she didn't. She was far too preoccupied with the feel of Hyunseung's lips on her own to care.
“Over here,” she heard a voice that she recognized immediately calling to her from the back of the classroom. Hyunseung gestured to the empty desk next to him and contemplated winking at her, but reasoned against it.
Moving through the other desks, Hyuna's plaid skirt brushed against them, drawing the eyes of Hyunseung and every other guy in class. She blushed without thought and pulled the rebellious skirt down. This was the last kind of attention she wanted and the skirt went down to her knees for crying out loud.
“By the look on your face, I'm gonna guess you're still thinking about last night?” Hyunseung practically chirped - must have been proud of himself - when she sat down. That didn't help the blushing.
“Shut up...” she giggled against her own will.
“Make me,” he turned to her and looked aloof though he'd caught all the attention she thought she'd be giving to her science teacher. She couldn't let him win like that...raising her hand, she waited to be called on.
“Yes, Miss Kim?”
“Hyunseung-sshi is messing with me. I told him to focus on the board but he hasn't stopped since I sat down,” she said, feigning a pout that would make even the meanest disciplinarian feel a little sad inside. The teacher's eyes were now glued to Hyunseung, who had a look of slightly satisfied shock on his face.
“How are old are we?” the teacher told him with a hint of disappointment in his tone. He'd believed Hyuna.
“I apologize, won't happen again, sir,” Hyunseung replied.
This was their game. It was mischevious yet fun, and it managed to convince everyone else in the school that no matter how much Hyunseung wanted Hyuna, she would always refuse his advances. It made it easier to hide the fact that the truth was the opposite. Hyuna and Hyunseung both got a rush from messing with each other and when Hyunseung pulled Hyuna off campus at lunch that day, they were both rewarded.
Kissing her outside the gate, Hyunseung stopped with his hand pushing her hair behind her ear. His expression was almost grave, but the corners of his mouth were slightly turned up, so Hyuna wasn't sure what to think.
“Is everything ok?” she muttered with genuinely nervous eyes.
“Oh, yea...I was just wondering something. What are we?”
Hyuna's eyes rounded out and she pouted naturally, unsure of exactly what he was asking. She had a feeling of what he was getting at, but didn't want to get her hopes up.
“A trouble maker and a beautiful girl?” she said sarcastically and Hyunseung laughed at her quip momentarily.
“Of course. But seriously...are we...something now?”
His intentions were clear and Hyuna's previous guess was right, though she still wasn't sure how to answer. She didn't mind the thought of being Hyunseung's official girlfriend, but the drama from other jealous female students wasn't something she was looking forward to. Still, she wanted Hyunseung to herself, and the feeling seemed mutual.
“Do you want to be? I mean...I know we like eachother, but are you ok with what others might say?” she asked, arms wrapped around his waist with her head resting comforably on his chest.
“Well, the way I see it, people are always going to say things. If I cared too much about what they said, I'd hate everyone...besides, I'd like to show people that you're my girl...” He trailed off. It wasn't his favorite thing in the world to confess his actualy feelings but he'd gotten himself too far along to stop.
“So...?” he asked again, glancing at her but not staring, since it'd make him feel more awkward than usual.
“Sure,” she said simply, “Boyfriend,” she said it in a sing song kind of way and though he was more than elated at the news, he almost cringed.
“Great, now do me a favor and never say that again,”
“Ok, boyfriend. Whatever you say,” she continued to play with him.
He silenced her banter with a kiss that had to be cut short when the bell rang.
“Come on boyfriend, we're going to be late,” Hyuna warned him playfully as they began to run lightly into the school. Hyunseung poked her side and gave her a look that was intended to be stern but came out kind of cute.
“Alright, alright, last time...until we see Dongwoon. I have to rub this in,” Hyuna joked before they made it inside.
