Last Japanese Lesson

Jul 12, 2009 10:29

Yep, yesterday was my last Japanese lesson. I'm both sad and pleased. Well not pleased that it was over (Japanese was enjoyable and something to do on a Saturday) but I am glad with what I have learnt.

I finally got to do my presentation. My presentation was about shopping but also lolita. The cliquey girls got very excited when I mentioned prices and very helpfully informed me that I didn't have to spend Y180,000 on a dress because I could get a whole outfit on ebay for £60. I know they were trying to be helpful and I think the clothing you can get on ebay is great for starter lolitas (I have a very nice skirt from there) however they missed the point - that branded lolita clothes are expensive because they are often handmade and only made in small volume. They were interested though which was nice.

We also put on plays. This is where I got very embarrassed and was glad that I wasn't going to have another lesson. One of my group didn't turn up so it was just one of the cliquey girls and me. We altered the script (that I had gone to the effort to type up) but when it came to performing she put on such a fuss and made up all these excuses for why we couldn't perform. I tell you, she was kicking up a fuss about being embarrassed...I was so ashamed. Nobody who is shy kicks up that much fuss because it draws too much attention. Oh I really, really was embarrassed. I had to stand there in front of the whole class whilst she sat and protested in her chair. Someone even had a camera out. Ugh. Seriously. Ugh. She is nice to me so I shouldn't complain but ugh.

After Japanese mum told me Robert wasn't coming till Sunday so we could have gone shopping but she'd already done a little when she thought he was still coming so we went and saw Jan.

I spent the rest of the afternoon stressing out about my interview lol

In the evening we watched 'The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou'. It isn't as good as 'The Darjeeling Limited' or 'The Royal Tenenbaums' however it's worth a watch if it ever happens to be on (especially with such a golden cast!).
