Sometimes I hear the earth breathing
She sighs softly at our every error
In acknowledgment, not complaint
Her breath is steady as the waves of her ocean
She inhales light and darkness
and exhales a just love
I try to emulate her balance
leaning from one side to the other
I become a pendulum rather than a pulse
Bringing noise rather than breath
To every cell in this body
