Hi, LJ. It's been ages, I know, but the good news is, I'm doing a bit better concerning my senioritis & time management, which means, LJ quality time! A proper update is on the horizon, but for now, I have three weeks' worth of my show to get off my chest, so bear with me. :D
I've contemplated doing a separate reaction post for "Lineage" since it's

I think your understanding of this show's characters and their relationships is very deep.
Thanks! This show has many complex characters, and it's always fun to try & see the motivations behind their actions - and discuss our different takes on them - before the answers are spelled out for us on screen (as in Conrad's reasoning for why it had to be DAVID).
No matter how much she can feel for him, just remember how much time she needed to start, only start, trusting Nolan, someone who had never betrayed or hurt her before, opposite to what Aiden had done.
Yes, that's a very good point. I also keep remembering how it took Nolan a season of coming through for Emily for her to be able to open up to him. And they also not only shared history, but also the person wronged by their common enemy they wanted to avenge. I keep thinking that maybe Emily DID learn Takeda's lesson, after all, and should Aiden decide to use the infinity box for his own gain, he'll find there a bunch of fishing equipment much like Danny boy...
It's true to say he had only few minutes to think about what he discovered, but still he was not interested in his friend's explanation. That's bad for me.
I loved EJ's take on this in his recent interview and the way Marco's reaction also bothered him a lot.
Nolan told you all about David and Amanda. Do you think this is a big mistake on his part? You seemed like a pretty sincere guy.
Marco legitimately had feelings for Nolan. When I was filming that part, I was trying to justify why he wouldn’t stick around longer and discuss, and try harder to understand what was going on. And then I realized that to the rest of this world in Revenge, David Clarke is like saying “Osama Bin Laden.” It says in the episode, “You chose a convicted terrorist over me.”
In modern day, it’s like saying, “So you helped fund Osama Bin Laden’s acts,” and I believed that that’s true. If that was the case, you would automatically be like, “No, that’s crazy. You’re creepy and you’re not at all the person I thought you to be.” It’s sad because, in my mind, Marco helped build Nolcorp. I think that he was with it before he was even able to get paid. He was with Nolan before Nolan was “Nolan Ross,” the name.
His take on it makes sense, even though it's difficult for us to step into his shoes since we know the whole truth from the source. This is also why it's also difficult for Nolan because, like you said, all he gets from Marco's anger is that he doesn't care enough for him to get to the bottom of his David Clarke feelings.
Agreed that Marco needs to hear the story from Emily (after she's done fuming at Nolan!) - the tragedy of it all might help him understand why Nolan chose her over their company. At the same time, he also needs to know exactly how Nolan feels about David if there is to be reconciliation. And boy, I sure hope there will be for the reasons you mentioned - those two have A LOT of chem to work with. ;) Ngl, seeing how Nolan, Marco & Emily are going to resolve this conflict together may or may not be the s/l I'm most excited about in the coming eps.
I want Nolan with someone else than Emily, but let's be honest: if there's a chance that they're gonna end up together it wont be too soon (where's the fun if we got what we want before the very end?)
Your thoughts are my thoughts! The only thing I fear MORE than Nolan/Emily never happening after all my all-consuming investment into them is the writers rushing into getting them together just to burn them so much I would no longer be able to face the show. I speak from experience when I say that's the worst thing a show can do to you, and I hope to God that for all his aversion toward N/E, Mike will be above THAT.
Ashley-wise, I think that's the first s/l where we were given a reason to feel for her b/c usually it's all about her being sneaky, nosy & greedy. I do hope we'll see more storylines which show another side of her (not having high hopes Conrad's will do that, unless he forced her into it somehow).
