Hi, LJ. It's been ages, I know, but the good news is, I'm doing a bit better concerning my senioritis & time management, which means, LJ quality time! A proper update is on the horizon, but for now, I have three weeks' worth of my show to get off my chest, so bear with me. :D

I've contemplated doing a separate reaction post for "Lineage" since it's ( Read more... )

YAY YOU'RE BACK! AND THESE EPISODES. FEELINGS!

First of all, once again, Nolan poses here as her full-fledged partner who isn't just going to sit there & take orders - he has every right to make decisions for himself - which is the evolution of what their relationship once used to be that I'm always pleased to see reinforced.

Yes, yes, YES to this. YEEEEP.

AS IN EMILY >>> EVERYONE & EVERYTHING ELSE ALWAYS EVEN THEN, BE STILL MY NEMILY HEART

I was screaming this at my TV. God. His company is so important to him, his LIFE'S WORK, an yet he's willing to put it in danger for Emily, now and in the past.

I have to say, it's interesting that Nolan refers to Emily as his only friend when we know he also has Jack. Seems that deep inside, it all comes down to Emily being his one true friend, and he misses her.
Another thing I noticed! I think it comes down to what I always feel about this ship - she is the only friend who REALLY gets him, because she's the only one who knows about his relationship to David, which shapes so much of who he is.

It's also very awesome to see Nolan on the delivering end of a threat for once, and the way he says it?
Yes. I love threatening Nolan. We saw it with Tyler in season one, and it's great to see it again here. He's more than a match for Aiden, in his own way, and that scene was excellent.

And yeah, the “only real family” scene. MY HEART.

And you continue to be my fandom brain buddy - I also rather like Nolan/Marco. Though I'm okay with Nolan/Padma, too. Obviously neither hold a candle to THE OTP, but I think I just like seeing Nolan in (real, non-Tyler) relationships. He is so adorable and affection starved.

As a side note, I give the show bonus points for a) showing Nolan as REALLY bi, and b) giving him love interests who aren't white. Go show!

a full confession would mean admitting to breaking 99 state & federal law in exercising her revenge, which means she sees no future for herself beyond completing her goal.
I didn't even think of that. Now I'm sad.

And in non Nolan/Emily news, JACK/FAUXMANDA I WANT IT TO LAST. I've grown to really love Fauxmanda, and I want her to have a happy ending. I will be so sad if the show takes that away from me.

And yeah, I'm kind of obsessed with Conrad/Victoria. Conrad has really developed into a wonderful magnificent bastard type character, and his devotion to Victoria, though limited, is fascinating. I loved them grabbing hands when they thought Emily's mom was going to shoot them.

YAY! I was hoping you'd see this post. :)

His company is so important to him, his LIFE'S WORK, an yet he's willing to put it in danger for Emily, now and in the past.

It's also interesting to see the contrast in his motivations for it 6 years ago & now. Back then, it really WAS because Emily was David's daughter & he meant so much to him. Now, it's because Ems is his FAMILY. That's... beautiful. :')

She is the only friend who REALLY gets him, because she's the only one who knows about his relationship to David, which shapes so much of who he is.

AGREED. They're bound for life by their love for David, and that's the kind of connection Aiden - or anyone else, including her mother b/c WHM! - will never be able to give Emily, no matter how similar their circumstances are.

He's more than a match for Aiden, in his own way, and that scene was excellent.

YES. Wrong, I know, but I keep hoping Aiden will end up a baddie JUST so Nolan could make good on that threat & his improved boxing/karate skills on him. ;)

I just like seeing Nolan in (real, non-Tyler) relationships. He is so adorable and affection starved.

Me too, it's a pretty fascinating thing. To be honest, I never got into N/P, and for the longest time I've wondered if it that was just the ambiguity of Padma's motivations, or also my shipper feelings getting in the way. However, this N/M storyline made me rest easy b/c I bona fide ship Nolan/Marco AND NEmily/Endgame. I guess it's true what they say - you don't choose the ship, the ship chooses YOU. Can't wait to see how Nolan/Marco's reconciliation plays out - and its impact on Nolan/Emily because she's right in the middle of their break-up.

As a side note, I give the show bonus points for a) showing Nolan as REALLY bi, and b) giving him love interests who aren't white. Go show!

I know! Also, did you know that Marco was originally written as a 30-year-old African-American male, but EJ did so well they changed their minds & took him on? I'm so glad they did, he has the most insightful thinky thoughts on his character.

And in non Nolan/Emily news, JACK/FAUXMANDA I WANT IT TO LAST. I've grown to really love Fauxmanda, and I want her to have a happy ending. I will be so sad if the show takes that away from me.

SEE, THIS IS WHY WE ARE REVENGE SOULMATES. Also, how awesome was it to see Emily telling Fauxmanda the truth about baby Carl's paternity in an earlier episode? More of that unique relationship of theirs where Fauxmanda dotes on Emily, and Emily realises that maybe she doesn't deserve to be manipulated the same way Em manipulates her other pawns.

I loved the ConVict hand grab as well. It's interesting b/c for all his devotion for Victoria, Connie keeps cheating his way through both their marriages (as per the promo for the next ep)... and it started in the 90s at the NYE party, BEFORE David/Victoria took off.
