It was really nice to seeing someone else see what I saw in the Stefan/Elena scene so completely -- except, I was more 'you're a jerky, hypocritical selfish ass, STEFAN!' than were you. :)
I'm glad to know we're on the same wavelength here! Tbh, I think I've exhausted all my Stefan feelings of this kind last week (haven't felt this miserable so long post-ep since we found out the truth about Lexi), so it probably numbed me down a little for whatever was coming this ep. I'm looking forward to reading your review, as usual!
Yeah, I don't think Bill's a good guy. Sorry, no.
Dude rubs me the wrong way so much, idek. I can't shake the feeling he WILL initiate that war against the vampires in Mystic Falls eventually, making the history repeat itself.
I wasn't thrilled with this episode.
Yeah, it wasn't one of this season's best, which is why they played the Elijah card in the end to redeem it. Come to think of it, the overall feel of the ep is probably what made Elijah's entrance that much more epic!
I forgot to mention it in the review, but another thing I liked about the episode is the Damon/Alaric bromance suddenly coming back in full force, and Damon trying to figure out what Mer is up to for his bro.
I was spoiled too by people not using cuts on LJ. I was very peeved. :(
Oh, my. I expect nothing less from Twitter, but LJ is usually considerate as far as spoilers are concerned, so I'm sorry it happened in your own 'home'! That said, when I'm in a normal state of mind, I tend to avoid all social networks before watching just in case. I have major trust issues spoiler-wise, mostly coming from the experience that people's individual notions of spoilers & when + where they are/are not appropriate are very different.

Ooh, I didn't even think of that. Noooooooooooo!

Ah, we differ here because while I loved Damon's end, Alaric is getting on my last nerve. I just haven't felt any affection through the snark. All of their interaction since the show came back has played as if Ric is merely tolerating Damon's company and that's really frustrating. Especially when if Ric is holding the neck-snap against Damon, it still pisses me off because as bad as that was, it doesn't negate the fact that Ric was a TOTAL DICK to Damon prior for no fault of Damon's! And there's not even been no apology, but no hint that Ric was wrong.
He was not an innocent bystander in what led to that neck-snap. (Yes, yes, if he didn't have the ring and they weren't vampires, blah, blah, this not be something I'd be arguing ... but supernatural stuffies, different strokes). And in this one, I was like WHAT? to Ric because Damon went out of his way to help Ric, to get the information for him, and Ric not only didn't offer up a thank you, he couldn't even bother to acknowledge that Damon was being a good friend. So, yeah, I'm on a break with Ric right now.

I used to do that, but my flist has been so good that I risked it. I was killing time until I got home, and then boom not even before the show aired on the West Coast someone had the huge Elijah spoiler with no cut. Ugh. Never again will I go anywhere near on a new TVD night.
I couldn't get the idea out of my head ever since he first came to town with his anti-vampire stance. I almost jumped in my seat when I saw him emerge in this episode, lol.

It's funny because I was initially the one deeply ~offended by Alaric's behaviour when the show came back, but now it seems this new dynamic isn't going anywhere, so I'm just learning to live with the vicious snark, I guess. IA with you regarding that massive chip on Ric's shoulder that just won't die - the way I see it, they just need to throw some punches & get it over with (#1 way of dealing with brother issues on TVD), but Ric might think Damon is trying to "murder" him again. SIGH. In terms of this episode, I actually didn't find it odd at all that Alaric didn't want Damon to get up in his biz with Meredith - they're guys, after all, and Ric doesn't want to seem like a damsel in distress - but what struck me as very foolish on Alaric's part is his trusting Meredith with vital information after what Damon found out; after she assaulted him?? Damon's vervain diet, the ring, really, Alaric? He's being too naive, and I think this will prove to be a huge mistake in the long run when Mer joins up with Bill to destroy all the vampires barring Caroline.
Never again will I go anywhere near on a new TVD night.
Yeah, the East Coast/West Coast airing is an issue. The first thing you learn about spoilers is that you shouldn't post them until after the episode airs, but many people disregard the fact that the East has about 3 hours on the West. :|
So it's a good decision to stay away. It's hard to live that secluded life until you see ep, but I console myself with the fact that it's always worth it.

Loved all your macros, per usual. :D
Appreciate it! <3
