I never claimed to be a mexican chef

I'm currently trying to make shredded beef by boiling some pieces of meat until they fall apart. Or that's what it's meant to do. But so far, after 4 and half hours of crock potting, we're not anywhere near shredding. This is my first time trying this so maybe it's not as easy as it sounds...? Looks like I may be having some sort of strange boiled beef for tea later this week then. Ho hum.

At least I seem to have gotten the spices right though. The house is filled with a wonderful aroma right now and my vegetarian husband is cranky with me for tempting him to the dark side.
