[RL with Shadow!Azula]

Giselle waited patiently in the cold, ina relatively empty spot in Times Square. There were plenty of people bustling around her; business men and women, tourists, students, but Giselle was looking for one person in particular. At least, someone who was a part of her. She searched through the crowd with her eyes, waiting to spot Azula's shadow.

Azula's advisers (none of whom had noticed that the Fire Lord's amber eyes had turned a rather more wild-looking shade of yellow) were done with their meetings for the day, and so she was free to do whatever she wished. At the moment, that happened to be visiting the Earth city of New York with Giselle Phillip.

Azula had never been to New York, despite spending a great deal of time only an hour away in Princeton, New Jersey. It was bigger than she expected-- even Los Angeles, Paris, and London didn't hold a candle to the hustle and bustle of Times Square. It took her a while to spot Giselle and then wade through the crowds to reach her, but she managed it. Coming to a halt a few feet away from her, Azula stood, and she waited.

A smile light up on Giselle's face as soon as she spotted the young Fire Lord not too far off.

"Azula!" she cried and bounded towards her after making sure she wouldn't bump into anyone else. When she reached her, her cheeks were flushed from the cold, but she couldn't look happier. "Hello!"

"Hello," she replied, not sounding nearly as enthusiastic as Giselle did. She looked around them, still a bit surprised at how packed the place was. "... Is it always this crowded?"

"In this area, usually! It's because of all the businesses and theaters here."

She was happy to tell her anything she need to about this new home of hers. "Is there something you'd like to do while you're here?"

She sighed. "We're here for lunch, right?"

"Oh yes! Lunch!" she turned to look for the direction they would need to go to. "Have you ever had pizza before?"

Azula gave a nod. "In New Jersey, yes."

[dreaming_oflove]

"Would that be alright for lunch then?"

[loooooooveme]

She gave another curt nod. "That sounds fine. I like it with..." What was the name of that topping again?" "... The spicy meat. Pepper-something."

[dreaming_oflove]

"Pepperoni! Morgan likes that on her pizza too!" She smiles again and without much thought takes Azula's hand to head her in the right direction. My favorite is to have it with mushrooms."

Ugh, hand-holding. She would have pulled away if she wasn't worried about losing sight of Giselle in the crowd. "Who's Morgan?"

Of course Giselle is oblivious to any discomfort hand holding might bring.

"Morgan is Robert's daughter...my daughter too, now."

"So you adopted her." As disinterested as Azula normally was in Giselle, the mechanics of this sort of thing did interest her-- and now, of course, she was far more open about it.

"Yes! We finished all of the paper work last month," she said as they turned around a corner.

She raised an eyebrow. "There's paperwork?"

[dreaming_oflove]

"To make it official yes," Giselle said with a nod. When the reached a less crowded block she let go of Azula's hand. "Of course before Robert and I could even get married Robert had to find a way to get paperwork for myself, since I'm not from Earth."
