I was watching the Boondocks on my laptop earlier. Stupid, I know. But I cannot help but find the show funny as hell. I wanted to know the lyrics to the opening theme song, so I googled it. The first site I clicked on was a blog, and I was curious. I read through some of this woman's entries, and I liked what I read, she doesn't put a lot of shallow thought in them. I came across this one entry that featured a YouTube video about this man and a Free Hugs Campaign. There was this guy who stood around with a free hugs sign, and at first the video showed people who ignored him, and then clicked to everyone giving hugs and whatnot. Along the mall security had the guy banned for disturbing the peace of something. And all of these people got together and petitioned it. They got over 10,000 signatures and they had to let him keep his sign. It was really inspirational. It reminded me of two summers ago when I was being a mall rat. Greatest summer ever. I mean, every Saturday from 2-6, there would be swarms of us just living, laughing, loving. And we gave random people hugs and made loads of friends and made a lot of strangers smile. But then mall security cracked down on us, and we scattered. I'm not saying we should fight like this man did, because what he did with a "free hugs" sign is greater than what we could ever pull together. I think if everyone had a free hugs sign, or if they saw one, gave a hug, we'd be that much closer to having a happier time in our life.
