the idol who can't smile
so pi's jounetsu tairiku documentary just ended, and for some reason, i kinda felt sorry for him.
after an introductory clip were pi's show practicing dance with takki (and getting kissed by him in the process), we first see him in a long day full of nothing but magazine shoots. and whenever he was asked to smile, he says he will, but in the end, he can't. he admits that he was always told that he can't smile, and for some reason, he doesn't know why. like he rarely saw a picture of him smiling.
then we get to see him do various stuff, like when he's filming the elevator scene for kurosagi, or trying to shower really fast (less than five minutes).
another scene we see is when he wasn't in good condition, and he says that he doesn't really like seeing himself being sick or weak-looking.
there was also a mention about school, and that he only needs about 30 units in order to graduate, and apparently, that's just borderline (probably fully loaded?), and that one of the reasons why he wants to graduate from the university is that he promised his high school teacher that he would.
he's also shown typing his nikki entries, and we learn that he's been doing the entries everyday for the past five years.
a few clips from IWGP, nobuta wo produce, and his toshiba CM shoot came out, showing some of the things he's done.
and a lot of clips with news came out as well:
- the concert in taipei
- the hawaii russ-k CM shoot (where we get to see them running along the shore), pi with tegoshi and shige practicing dance steps (because shige came late because of a drama shoot, and we see pi playing with the camera, urging shige to dance despite shige complaining that it wasn't his jounetsu tairiku)
- the ANN live special with ryo and shige (with a special treat for ryopi fans as they show the massage part, and the talk about christmas memories)
- the dome concert, that was his dream as a junior, only to be a mere memory as, four days later, he goes and films prodai SP
yet this idol who can't smile says he'll go on working. and in the end, after playing at the hawaiian beach for prodai's filming, he does show us just a smile or two.

i don't really know what to say, but really... being an idol is difficult. i knew this one already when nino's own jounetsu tairiku aired, but... *sigh* i don't really know what to say except maybe this:
