I decided to get one of these lovely lj things to keep up with friends and such. I'm not very good at introducing myself but here goes. Well I'm Darcy Edwards. I'm 15 and in Grade 10 at Degrassi. I have brown hair and eyes. Imagine that. I just recently joined The Friendship Club at the beginning of the year. It's a Christian Club, yes. But just because I'm a follower of God doesn't mean I don't know how to have fun. I'm also a part of the Spirit Squad here at Degrassi, how's that for fun? So far Degrassi has been awesome. I just moved here last year and already have a lot of great friends like Manny, Emma, and Chante. It's so great.
I moved here from the states. I have to admit I really didn't want to move. I loved it in California because all my friends were there, I had a boyfriend, and I was doing really great in drama. My life was great. That all changed about a year and a half ago when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was in the hospital for about a month before they decided to send her to Canada for better treatment. So I packed up my things and said goodbye and moved up here a few months later. My mom is doing better, shes in remission. But all that really made me appreciate life and how much you shouldn't take it for granted. I didn't get along with my mom very well before all of that happened. I started feeling really guilty during her chemotherapy. So when I got to Degrassi I decided to put all of that behind me. As soon as I found out about The Friendship Club, I figured it was perfect since my mom's cancer had really brought out our family's faith in God.
My life is steadily getting back to normal. I don't really talk to many of my friends anymore. Dad says they we're a bad influence on me. Just because they did drugs doesn't mean I would have too. I miss them but my friends here are just as great. The only problem I have left is my acting. My acting went downhill after all the emotional stress, but that's okay. My life is just fine the way it is.
This year I started grade 10. It's been pretty good so far. But the best part definitly had to be meeting Spinner. He's really a great guy. Everyone seems to be mad at him for what happened to Jimmy last year, but he's sorry. You can't blame him forever. I'm not really even sure you can blame him at all. He's a great person, people just need to give him a chance again. Even though we broke up, I still think he's great.
