In Accordance (10 Things I Hate About You)
"Five things that may or may not happen to Katarina Stratford."
Kind of quiet-ish, but thoughtful. I liked it for the reality is portrayed, because it/they definitely could happen.
Four Ways Patrick and Kat Probably Break Up, And One Way They Probably Don't (10 Things I Hate About You)
Some are sad, some are kind of "eh, that happens," and the last is really kind of funny.
Fondest, Blindest, Weakest (1602)
This is an awesome look at the world of 1602 through the Elizabethan Daredevil's eyes (so to speak. Yes, I crack myself up). He's fearless, after all, and he calls himself the Devil, and those two things are used greatly not only to his advantage, but to the advantage of all of the Witchbreed.
In Which A New Child Comes To The Forest (Winnie the Pooh book)
This story is about stories, and about children, and how they change and, oh, hell with it, it's Christopher and his son and it's very sweet.
Suburban Nightmare (Addams Family)
Really, really funny.
Corps à Corps (Three Musketeers movie) Athos/Rochefort
It's not a pairing I'd ever thought of before, but it's believable the way it's presented here. It's complicated and nothing like easy, and seems to fit the characters well, from what I can remember.
In Among These Woods (Authurian legend)
It's odd, because I only know Arthurian myth kind of secondhand, from things I picked up from different sources, but this really drew me in just the same. It's very good and heartbreaking.
A Space of Flowers (Arthurian legend)
This is beautiful, and as I saw someone else say already, sort of turns the tradition love triangle on its head. Very nice.
Not Like Christmas, Exactly (Bend it Like Beckham)
And yuletide continues its long and glorious tradtion of fabulous Bend it fic. Jess/Jules, in a very sweet kind of way, and the differences that still exist despite how long they've been living in America.
The Night (Bible) Lilith/Eve
This is heartbreaking and lovely, and such an interesting twist on the whole well-worn story. And no snakes at all, which makes me somewhat happy, as I don't really like snakes.
Aceldama (Bible)
This is Judas, and his life is full of longing and lust and eventually, love.
Sancrosanct (Blade)
This isn't really a fic with a relationship in it, unless you count the daydream, but it's good and it's pitch perfect, and Deacon probably really felt this way.
Something Lost (Brotherhood of the Wolf) Thomas/Fronsac
Someone else, in the comments on this fic, said they'd been waiting for this since they saw the movie. Me, I've been waiting for Thomas/Fronsac/Mani, but this is almost as good. And sad. But good.
L'eau Vivante (Brotherhood of the Wolf) Fronsac/Mani
First time sex in a river. That's just... okay, look, it's really nicely written and fairly hot. Go read it.
Transmogrification (Calvin and Hobbes)
Everyone's reccing this, but it's really that good. And the crossover in the epilogue makes so much sense I'm amazed it isn't actually canon. Maybe it is.
Art of Dying (Children of Dune [miniseries])
I like the way this is just a quiet little piece, but it says a lot.
Aoidos (Greek mythology)
To understand why I like this so much, you have to understand how much music means to me, and how horrified I was when I found out we only have about seven or eight pieces of Ancient Greek music. There's something so amazing about how the Greeks truly believed music was all mathmatical and cerebral when now we see music as something mathmatical, yes, but also beautiful and earthy and just... the fic is so much better at showing this than I am at babbling over it.
In Defense (Greek mythology) Hector/Helen
And now I think back to the vibes I was getting from the two of them during Troy (god I hated Troy *stomps on it*) and this makes utter, perfect sense to me.
Akhos (Greek mythology)
This is heartbreaking and beautiful, set in the ninth year of the Trojan War.
Birth (Constantine [movie])
This is painful and beautiful and real.
Faith (Narnia)
Everybody recced this, I think. But it's just that good. Uncle Andrew from The Magician's Nephew at the end of his life, coming to finally understand.
Lucy and the Looking Glass (Narnia)
This is wonderful. Sweet, without being overly so, and the sly crossovers are just lovely.
And Indeed There Will Be Time (Narnia)
I have been waiting for this story since the first time I finished The Last Battle, sitting on one of my mother's church friend's kirchen floor drinking Sunny Delight. It goes on with the story, and there's Susan in it, too, and it's just wonderful.
The Phantom's Menace (Dead Boy Detectives)
Charles and Edwin and even Death are just perfectly themselves in this story. It's funny and a little kooky, and definitely silly, and just perfect, really.
Holding On (Dirty Dancing)
Aw. It's sweet, and almost, but not quite sappy. A look at Baby in college two months after that summer.
Questioning (Dogma)
Bethany Sloane, raising her Daughter the best way she knows how.
Vacation (Dogma)
The Metatron on vacation. Very funny.
The Priest That Tastes the Word (Dogma)
Metatron/God OTP 4-eva!
