that's what i got too. oddly enough, i drive a mustang and i've driven many mini-vans. I do have a mini-dv camera, though. and obscure pop culture? mmmmmm

it's sorta like that episode of dead like me where george is all surly because she doesn't have a car. that's my life.

I so love Dead like me. I am so sure I am gonna die by something hideously stupid like george did. More than likely I will get hit by a piece of my mothers luggage that came loose in flight while she was going to one of those amway-esque sales meetings. I have not seen any of the new season. I drive a nissan 200sx Se-R, I would never drive a mini van though I don't think I could parallel park it. I do own a lava lamp though, but no serger yet.

what's a serger?

and the new season's on showtime on demand right now, so i took like 3 or 4 days and watched all the episodes. i just got showtime, so i haven't seen the first season at all. :(

for the answe to what a serger is, if you lift up a t-shirt and look at the bottom seam most of them are serged seams, but I am wearing 2 shirts right now that neither have them go figure LOL. But its just the sewing machine that has like 4 needles and a knife that all goes at the same time. Its a blast to learn how to use cause you are always affraid you are going to cut your finger off :-). If you have hollywood video up there you should be able to rent them there, that is where I rented them.

you rent them at a video store? so what's so special about it that you can't get from a regular sewing machine?

ugh, you're bringing back my home-ec nightmares! i have visions of Ms. Cool standing over me with a measuring tape getting ready to strangle me if I made another stitch out of alignment...

LOL so you can now see how my messed up brain processes more than one thought at once yet my fingers fail to type them correctly. I was meaning you should be able to rent Dead Like Me's first season at hollywood video.

But as far as a serger goes, it can leave a finished edge on a piece of fabric with out having to hem it. Umm basically it'll keep the fabric from freying. And if you are good with one, you can sew shit really quick and it cuts the fabric as you go so there is like no trimming of edges. I love watching my friend Jonathan use it, that mutha fucka can sew his ass off. But well that is what he used to do for a living. I never took home-ec, I was complete band geek. LOL.

i think i understand it now, i looked at some of my tops and they don't have the normal hem. you learn something new every day. i haven't touched a sewing machine since i was in high school, so i'd probably end up killing myself if I tried.
