Fortuna.

How much

do you trust

your own shadow|

[ooc: If you guys could tell me whether your characters are actually themselves or one of the body snatchers for all-knowing-witch purposes, I'd appreciate it. Either way, she won't reveal their identities. ♥]

acting off on purpose, plot: crawling in my skin, the witch hour, clamp has doppelgangers everywhere, not a doppelganger, breaking your cute little brains, listen to the witch, cryptic o'clock, a little bit creepy, just playing along, the witch is in

I trust no one but my nakama.

That is a common saying, you know. [Which is not to say that's what she meant.]

There's a reason for that.

Some would call it paranoia.

Those are the ones who die quickly.

Being too wary, however, can keep you away from new meetings and new experiences alike.

Of course. I didn't say to hide from such things, eh? You can't run away from life's problems anymore than you can run from your shadow. Doesn't mean I trust 'em.

Sometimes they're only possible when you do trust them, though. Sometimes not.

When you trust your shadow? I guess that depends on what or who it is.

You don't have to take it so literally. Trusting a shadow can simply mean trusting another.

No, distrusting a shadow can still mean relying on your nakama to light up the darkness and make sure the shadow can't do much.

Like I said, one word, and several different meanings. It really only depends on how you see it.

I suppose so.

Do you have a legend in your world about shadows escaping their owners and acting of their own accord?

I am familiar with something along those lines. [Never said it was a legend from her world, but hey, doesn't really make a difference.]

In my world there's a devil fruit user who can do that. One of shichibukai, though I heard he's dead now.

Trusting one's shadow is never wise. Relying on nakama to fight your shadow is just fine.

If that is what you truly believe in, then I won't try to change your mind.
