Isn't it? Children are capable of so much more than adults ever give them credit for. This little boy was moved by someone's misfortune and decided to do something about it.
I do think it's dreadful though that he had to. A lot of school districts will make a child who can't pay have something else than the other children have, like a plain peanut butter sandwich and a carton of milk, instead of the well-balanced meals the other children get. It has to be embarrassing for the poor kids.
But I love this little boy's initiative, and that his mother encouraged him instead of patting him on the head and saying "You're too young to worry about it."
