Almost the weekend......

Hello everyone. Just another day here in sunny VA Beach. We're supposed to have thunderstorms today, but it sure doesn't look much like it outside. This is the 3rd nice hot day in a row that we've had here. It's quite enjoyable. I've been itching to get to the beach, but no one wants to go with me.:( I dunno what's wrong with those guys! I hate the idea of going alone. I don't want to leave the puppy all alone. And he can't go for walks to the beach or anywhere until he gets his last set of vaccines. I don't want him to end up getting sick with puppy parvo. I know we're not supposed to have him, seeing as how we're only supposed to have one pet and it's supposed to be only cats. But I say screw 'em....Shadow's my baby and so is Patches. I could never part with either of them. Guess I'll just be like everyone else and do it the illegal way. ;)
Steve should be back from work within a few hours, if not sooner. I guess he and I have been doing ok. We had a huge fight a few nights back, and I think that really did a number on Steve. I swear he has multiple personalities. When he gets mad, he hits me and then later, doesn't really realize what he'd done. It's scarey. I'm keeping a close eye on how he acts, and have been letting him do more of his own thing without much of a fight over it. So I've been spending a lot of time alone. I hate being afraid of him. He's just not who he used to be, and I don't know why.
The puppy went to the vet on Tuesday. He got dewormed, his second set of vaccinations, 2 pills for the tapeworms, meds for a mild yeast infection in his ears, and Frontline plus for fleas. He was so knocked out from the meds, he slept most of the day. I notice he's doing much better now. He doesn't scratch as much, his ears don't stink anymore, and his tapworms are gone. He's been eating a bit more too, which is great. His leash training is going good, but he's a pickle with potty training. He has lots of indorr accidents. :( I've started teaching him basic commands. He's already learned how to "go get it", and I've been working with him on bring his toy back once he gets it. He'll do it sometimes. Also, I'm working on teaching him how to give kisses, which he knows a little. He'll sit for me sometimes. And he knows what "come here" means. He's finally catching in to waht happens when he does something bad. When I tell him bad, he now runs, which is good in a way because I know I'm getting the point across. He enjoys praise, and we seem to get a better response from him when he gets treats...lol. All in all, I think he's doing pretty good. He's a great new addition to our family. :)
Welp, I'm off for now. Gotta call mom to see what's going on with her. Laterz.
